Besides curry, this dazzling salad has yummy sunflower seeds and dried cherries. It tastes great and looks super when presented on a big, beautiful platter. Marinate overnight so that the flavors of the curry/mayonnaise dressing has time to work.

Years ago, I needed a colorful dish for my menu and created this salad. I experimented with the dressing until the combination was a success. This is a great make-ahead salad. -Pat Faircloth, Lillington, North Carolina

This salad has bite and crunch and sweetness. Broccoli, crumbled bacon, raisins and nuts, with a smattering of red onion. The dressing is mayonnaise based, with sugar and vinegar adding a sweet and sour dimension. Serves eight.

Chunks of turkey or chicken add a variety to this wonderful broccoli salad. Try with crisp red grapes and a bit of diced red onion. Instead of mayonnaise, use a creamy style salad dressing done up with vinegar and sugar.
