Loved the recipe, asked for it over and over again. I made the recipe as described, except for adding 1 packet of ranch dip mix and used 1/2 can of petite diced tomatoes. It does take overnight for the flavors to spread. Will make again!!!!

I should have listened when other people said to leave it in the fridge overnight. This definitely helps bring out the bacon flavour. This was still a good dip though. Halfway through the night, I stirred in some salsa, and people polished it off. I would definitely recommend using half the amount of tomatoes and adding salsa as the remaining amount. I also adding a few pinches of dry veggie soup mix for some added flavour. I will probably make this again and keep playing around with the ingredients.

Very good. And no need to deal with all that frying. Just line a cookie sheet with foil and bake your bacon in the oven. 375 degrees for about 20 min. No mess or oil splatters to clean up. I did add a couple shakes of dry ranch mix and green onions. I've also used chopped chives instead of green onions - which I prefer. Let it sit overnight and added the chopped tomatoes before serving. I used 2 roma tomatoes with the seeds removed first. This will solve your problem of a runny dip. Great with plain ruffles. Optional add ons: add a few dashes of cayenne, fresh chopped dill, a few dashes of liquid smoke, 1/2 package of softened cream cheese, garnish with chopped bacon on top, chopped chives, dashes of paprika, caramelized onions, diced pimentos (from the jar). Try these, they enhance the dip very well.

It was tasty but I probably wouldn't make again as is. I might try that one suggestion of adding cheese and baking it! It was good but I guess based on reviews I expected to be blown away.

This reciepe was given to me by my neighbor said I had to try it because it tasted just like a blt. It was excellent! I serve it in a bread bowl w/ a selection of pumpernickle, rye and sourdough breads. I like it just the way it is but I would probably like it as others have suggested w/ scallions or dry ranch mix. It definately needs to sit for an hour or overnight is better. This is a must try if you like blt's.

I made this for a St. Patricks Day party. It was the first thing gone. I did not add the tomatos, and I served with Fritos. A complete hit and SO EASY. A definite keeper!

This was very good - better after sitting overnight. I found the original recipe to be a little bland, like other reviewers did (although my husband licked the bowl!) so later, I added some dry ranch mix & it improved the flavor tremendously. In original recipe, there's not much flavor besides the bacon. Although, I brought it to a party and it wasn't a big hit at all. Sorry.

This dip is AWESOME! I fried a pound of bacon and added it to 1 1/2 cups of real mayo and 1 1/2 cups of light sour cream (instead of 1 cup each) because I needed a little bit more dip. I also added just a little bit of bacon bits. I left the tomatoes out because my husband cannot stand them and the dip was still AMAZING!! I served with Fritos. I thought people were going to pick up the bowl and start licking it clean after the dip was gone!

I just made this recipe for the first time. It went over well at my daughter's birthday party, however I thought it tasted overwhelmingly like mayo. I used light mayo and reg sour cream. I even added extra sour cream, but still could only taste mayo. Next time will use 3/4 c mayo and 1 1/2 c sour cream. I used real bacon bits and let it sit overnight. That seemed to work well. I seasoned with garlic powder and added the tomatoes right before serving and topped with green onions. I served it with white toast points. My father could not stop eating it.

This is such an unusual sounding dip, you'd think it wouldn't work, but it does and it's really good! I love to bring this to work functions as it's gobbled up every time.

When I made this, I used a 6oz can of tomato paste instead of the chopped tomato. It gave it a richer tomato flavor and kept it from being runny. I used pork rinds to dip it up and it was really good!!

I've had this in my recipe box so long, and Super Bowl Sunday was a good day to try it--glad I did! I used light mayo, bacon bits, and cherry tomatoes. I tasted it as is and thought it needed just a little something, added green onions, and for me it was just right. I knew Hubby would like it saltier, so I added some powdered Ranch dressing mix, and then he loved it--said it was good stuff! I can't wait to try this with homegrown tomatoes during the summer. Served it with Ruffles.
