You don't need a binder. Either use semi defrosted frozen ground turkey or put the patties in the fridge or freezer for 15 minutes. This is a great throw together meal for me since I always have frozen ground turkey.

I did not deviate from the recipe's ingredients. However, I made the burgers and let them refrigerate overnight. I think this was the key to ensuring the burgers retained moisture and the banana peppers really marinated/tenderized the turkey meat. The burgers did not fall apart either and no, I didn't add any binders i.e., eggs, bread crumbs, etc. Yes, the feta disappears into the burger (ref: Holly's comment) but you can still taste it. I really like this but I think the key is putting all the ingredients together and letting it marinate overnight. So easy and tasty that I will make again.

The recipe as stated was a starting point for me...I was afraid they wouldn't hold together well so I added 1 egg and 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 can black beans, 3 cloves garlic and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese...cooked on the Forman and topped with more cheddar cheese, a little salsa and avocado...served with Broccoli slaw (see the Coleslaw with a difference recipe)...really good...even my 3 year old loved 'em.

Great taste. But the burgers fell apart. I should have known to add my old stand by binders.

I am a bonfide beef lover. For me, ground turkey is not a good fit in many dishes - mostly due to the texture. However, I am now sold on turkey burgers and I see that they are very popular. This is the first one I tried - loved it!!! I happened to buy a ground turkey that already had italian seasoning in it and the burgers ended up tasting like a mild sausage. The texture was thick and hearty. My entire family enjoyed them.

The feta kind of disappeared in the burger, but it did provide some extra taste. I think I will stick with "actually delicious turkey burgers" from this site as they stay more moist and maybe add the peppers and feta to those.

Why are these called BBQ? I don't get it. I accidentally tried to use a Hungarian yellow pepper instead of a banana pepper. Luckily I tasted it first and it was so hot I almost cried. SO, I put in a green onion instead of the banana pepper - I also seasoned these with Old Bay - I thought they were the best turkey burgers I ever had; although I didn't exactly follow the recipe, I have given this 4 stars.

I am giving this five stars both for the taste and ease of preparation. I did add two tablespoons minced onion and about 1/4 cup finely shredded Mexican blend cheese because I was cleaning out the fridge. I used Athenos reduced fat tomato and basil crumbled feta cheese. My entire family, including picky boys 2, 9 and 11, thought they were delicious. Thanks for the recipe-we will be using it again!

These were wonderful. Made them just as the recipe stated. I didn't know if my picky husband or son would eat a turkey burger, but we all loved it. My daughter grew banana peppers in biology class last year and I found this recipe for them. Definitely will make again.

I was surprised that this recipe had such a lack luster response!!! It is a great basis to go from when making this type of turkey burgers! After reading the review, I decided to slightly modify the recipe: I used tomato/basil feta cheese, used sweet and spicy banana peppers chopped, chopped onion, garlic powder, extra basil, and cracked peppercorns (ground). I couldn't put these down! I only made two small patties (i only had a small amount of ground turkey), and I wish I had more because I would have eaten them all!

Decent attempt, but the recipe doesn't really provide for a quality turkey burger that differs from a normal turkey burger. I thought the addition of the banana peppers and the feta cheese would provide for a unique texture and taste, but both failed to really get the difference that I was looking for. Good taste, but a normal turkey burger is less work and tastes about the same. Go for another recipe.
