'Years ago, when I complained my pear jam was bland, an aunt suggested that I add plum pulp to my next batch,' recalls Margaret Zickert from Deerfield, Wisconsin. 'I did...and then I won the grand prize in a recipe contest with the thick tasty results!'

This is a jam recipe was given to me by my mother in law. She made it every year and would send us a pint because we could not get gooseberries where we lived.

When sour cherries and red raspberries are in season, I always freeze some with this recipe in mind. I've been making jams and jellies for years, and friends and family agree this is the best I make.

This strawberry freezer jelly is quick, easy and delicious on toast, ice cream or even in milkshakes! Keep jars of this in the freezer and take them out when you are ready to use them. Once thawed, they will last approximately 1 month in the refrigerator. If it lasts that long!

I'm sure to pick up extra bags of cranberries for the freezer in fall so that I can make this lovely, delicious jam all year-round. My kids love it on peanut butter sandwiches. Jars of this pretty ruby-colored jam also make great gifts. -Marjilee Booth, Chino Hills, California

Full of fruity flavor, this delightful jam is a great toast topper. Delores Ward of Decatur, Indiana came up with the recipe when a neighbor gave her an armload of pears. 'Everyone really likes it,' says Delores.

This is a favorite in our family at Christmas. The flavor of the sweet strawberries combined with the flavor of the peppers gives this jam a wonderful flavor dimension. This jam is not spicy, but can be made to be spicy by adding more peppers or a few habanero peppers.
