This is a wonderful replacement for the bottled stuff! I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I prefer to taste before adding sugar, and once I tasted it, opted to withhold the sugar entirely. I used a ketchup without the high fructose corn syrup!!

I made this exactly as written. This taste just like store bought "Catalina" which I love. Well, no more buying store bought for me; this is much healthier, cheaper, & sooooo.... easy to make!! Thanks so much for introducing this recipe.

I don't eat french dressing but made this for my SO. He said it has a lot more punch than the bottled french dressing, but he really liked it, rated it 4. I did love the ease in the prep. and it cost way less to make than the bottled so it's a win win recipe:) Edit: this dressing does not keep well at all, so use it within a few days or else it congeals.

Seriously so easy and so good. I used regular vinegar as that is all I had. I also just used onion powder. I added a little garlic powder. It was wonderful and I didn't even need to measure the ingredients, this seems like a no-fail recipe!

Very good! My husband likes Catalina dressing, and other copy-cat recipes have failed to impress him. This one gets the nod! I used onion powder instead of fresh, and regular white vinegar because I didn't have wine vinegar. I did cut back on the sugar too, as others suggested.
