Directions

  1. Pour about 1 inch of water into the bottom half of a steamer pan set, and place over medium heat. Place the asparagus in the top half of the steamer pan set; steam until tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove the asparagus and arrange on a serving platter.
  2. Whisk the lime juice, lime zest, cilantro, ginger, and sugar together in a bowl; stream the vegetable oil into the mixture while whisking. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle over the asparagus.

I use a similar recipe all the time but I toss the aparagus in the oil and seasonings, put it on cookie sheet and bake at 375 for about 8-10 minutes. It is much better, the seasoning permeates the asparagus while it cooks.

Made this an hour ahead and put the dressing on after arranging the asparagus in a fancy pie dish. Slipped it in the fridge and served it COLD - YUMMY

This was really good. I roasted the asparagus but that takes some more oil so the end result was a little more oil than I normally like so next time I will steam them.

WOW this was a different take on asparagus, I think the dressing was almost like a pesto, in fact...if I make it again, I'm going to turn the dressing into a pesto. Thanks for sharing!
