This was absolutely wonderful! Addictive! My husband and I ate almost the whole thing in one setting. I used a ham steak. Thank you Helen!

We liked the basics of the recipe, and it is a great way to use leftovers and lots of fresh asparagus from the garden. I altered it and put in white beans, cream of asparagus soup, left the celery out, and only put in a few shakes of the lemon pepper. I will leave off the breadcrumb topping next time. The "prep time" of 15 minutes only included the time it took to put it together once the ingredients were in front of me. It took about 45 min - 1 hr to do everything from start to finish.

Really an easy, homey dish. I used up a bit of our Easter ham and asparagus leftover too. I cooked my rice in chicken broth to give it more flavor. Skipped the lemon pepper in favor of a little garlic powder and grill seasoning-just personal preference. Also skipped the butter/breadcrumb topping to cut calories a little. Still tasty and leftovers of the leftovers (heh) were good too!

I made this tonight for dinner to use up some leftover ham. I added two cans of soup because we like things saucy. I also added sliced mushrooms. It was very good and very easy, however, next time I will decrease or change the lemon pepper seasoning. It was a little too strong for us.

I made this last night. I changed a few things in the recipe and it was really good. We almost ate the whole pan! I used a can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of mushroom with a can of chicken broth. I omitted the cheese and bread crumbs but added sliced mushrooms and a little extra rice. It was really good I think I might make it again to use up the rest of the ham. Thanks!!

My husband loved this I did make a few changes though I used 1 1/2 cups milk and 2 cups of cheese one was cheddar the other swiss. I had to use frozen asparagus since thats all I had on hand and cooked that a tiny bit before cutting and adding to rest of ingredients.

Very good. I did not have any rice but had just made wide noodles for soup. So I used them. Fantastic sauce and topping. I will try chicken next time.

I don't know if it was the type of Lemon pepper I used, but this was way too peppery.

This was very good. The only change I made was using crushed potato chips instead of bread crumbs.

Was good but asparagus did not stay hard. It was mushy.

This was ok - not horrible but probably not something I would make again. I don't think the lemon pepper is the right spice to use in this, and I also thought it was a little dry. Thanks for the recipe though!

This recipe was really great. My entire family and two children I was looking after really enjoyed it. Simple enough, hearty, and tasty. I even liked it and I don't particularly like rice dishes. It's easy to change. I used brocolli for lack of asparagus. Used all my leftover ham which was my original intent. Husband wants me to add it to the rounds.

This is a great recipe! I used brown rice instead of white and baby carrots instead of celery - but kept everything else the same. Great twist on the same old ham. Fantastic!

Okay, Helen: 5 stars! This was excellent. And it gets better every day. I made a few modifications, but that is just a matter of personal preference. Cheers!
