Asparagus and Ham Casserole
SUBMITTED BY:
Helen Ostronic

"I created this casserole one day while trying to find a good recipe for leftover ham. Instead of resorting to scalloped potatoes and ham, or ham and noodles. I tried asparagus. Everyone liked it so well, I've made it ever since.--Helen Ostronic, Omaha, Nebraska"

Okay, Helen: 5 stars! This was excellent. And it gets better every day. I made a few modifications, but that is just a matter of personal preference. Cheers!

This recipe was really great. My entire family and two children I was looking after really enjoyed it. Simple enough, hearty, and tasty. I even liked it and I don't particularly like rice dishes. It's easy to change. I used brocolli for lack of asparagus. Used all my leftover ham which was my original intent. Husband wants me to add it to the rounds.

This is a great recipe! I used brown rice instead of white and baby carrots instead of celery - but kept everything else the same. Great twist on the same old ham. Fantastic!

I made this last night. I changed a few things in the recipe and it was really good. We almost ate the whole pan! I used a can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of mushroom with a can of chicken broth. I omitted the cheese and bread crumbs but added sliced mushrooms and a little extra rice. It was really good I think I might make it again to use up the rest of the ham. Thanks!!

My husband loved this I did make a few changes though I used 1 1/2 cups milk and 2 cups of cheese one was cheddar the other swiss. I had to use frozen asparagus since thats all I had on hand and cooked that a tiny bit before cutting and adding to rest of ingredients.

Very good. I did not have any rice but had just made wide noodles for soup. So I used them. Fantastic sauce and topping. I will try chicken next time.

I don't know if it was the type of Lemon pepper I used, but this was way too peppery.

This was very good. The only change I made was using crushed potato chips instead of bread crumbs.
