THESE COOKIES WERE WAY TO GREASY. THEY TURNED OUT FLAT AND TO BROWN. I MAY HAVE ADDED THE FLOUR MIXTURE TO QUICKLY. IM NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG, BUT I WONT WASTE MY TIME OR INGREDIENTS ON THESE AGAIN.

I measured precisely and followed the directions as told, and I'm not a fan of this cookie. Half the joy of making choc. chip cookies is eating the dough but this dough tasted bitter, probably because of the Baking Powder and Baking Soda and 1/2 tsp.(!) of Salt. The baked cookie was no better and was not soft and chewy but hard like a hockey puck and I had to bake them 12 minutes just to get any browning (yes, my oven is calibrated correctly). I bake cookies by custom order for my clients and just happy I did not try these out on one of them. But use I can see for these is to now break them up into bits to sprinkle onto a frosted cake or perhaps to stir them in to vanilla ice cream like cookie dough ice cream. I am going back to (almost like) Mrs. Fields's chocolate chip cookie recipe for my cookie clients.

Our family and friends that tried the original version all agreed they were way too sweet. We made them again with these changes: We cut the brown sugar down to 1/2 c. and the white sugar to 1/4 c., We cut the butter down to 1/2 c. We also used only 1/2 c. semi-sweet & 1/2 c. milk chocolate and it was still plenty sweet and chocolaty. Great cookies when made this way!

Mine turned out very much like the original toll house cookies. They flatted out nicely, and weren't cakey at all. I followed the recipe as written (using 1/2 teaspoon baking soda + 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Husband loved them! Thanks Ashley!

These were alright. They baked out a little bit flat for my taste, and the texture was a wee bit flaky. I prefer my chocolate chip cookies heartier than that, but that's just me! When I realized they were coming out a little flat, I crushed about sixteen 'nilla wafer cookies and added the fine crumbs to the dough. They were delicious! Big, puffy, and with an interesting crunch! The vanilla flavor of the crumbs was great paired with the milk chocolate.

They are really great. They are on the sweet side for chocolate chip cookies, so if that's a problem I would use semi-sweet chips instead. Great recipe though!

I added chopped pecans to my batch and made an already great cookie even better! The recipe says it yeilds 36 cookies, but I ended up with 27.. I used a larger sized spoon.. they came out lightly crisp on the very edges and nice and chewy in the middle. Thumbs up here! :o)

Easy, but certainly not very tasty. I have made a LOT of scratch cookies over the years...sorry, but this recipe is not a keeper in my house!

I know there are only so many ingredients and combinations that can make "chocolate chip cookies." So as I re-read the recipe, I can't figure out why these are so great and so perfect. I have tried making great c.c. cookies for years and I think I've finally found my recipe. These are not as cake-like as other reviewers made them sound. They spread out just right on my pan. Delicious, only wish I had doubled the recipe!!

OK, this is my very first time making a chocolate chip cookie from scratch. And it was INCREDIBLE!! My first batch came out perfect. Infact it's been 2 days since i made them and i'm still eating the leftovers. Still taste great 2 days later. The only change i made was using 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 1 cup peanut butter chips :) Will definitely make this one again. Maybe next time with nuts :)

Edible...but not great. They taste okay...a bit cakey but the main thing was that they didn't flatten at all! I pressed down the second batch just so the cookie would be bigger! Oh and definately does not make 3 dozen! I ended up with probably about 2 dozen small cookies.

These were very good. I added 1 tsp. of baking soda because I couldn't remember how much ashley said to add.... I guess it was supposed to be 1/2 a tsp. oops! :) But, they turned out great! Other than that, the only thing I did differently was I only added 1 cup of choco chips. This was just perfect for me and my husband... they were nice and chocolaty... I cannot imagine putting the 2 full cups in... I would say just add one cup first and then if you think it needs more... add more... but I definitely wouldn't add the 2 cups all at once.

I tried this recipe and the cookies were hard as a rock. no matter how soft there were and how little cooking time used, did help. they were stil hard as a rock. Using two types of sugar charged the taste. The dough was chakly. This recipe isn't for adults, maybe kids as the dough seemed like a dough a kid would produce not and adult. Not good for parties or guest.

I did not like this recipe at all. It seemed like there were way too many chocolate chips... perhaps there isn't enough flour in the recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, and the cookies look great, smell great, but do not taste great. No one wants to eat these.
