okay i am new to all recipes but you have to trust me when i say even if this does not sound good to you, because the apricot part.... i am telling you , you can not taste it. like when you have orange chicken you can't taste the orange. but it's there. okay so i did use apricot preserves but also i mixed in some apricot jam and mashed it up because is is sweeter. so if you try that i guarantee you will love it! :)

My boyfriend says I "always" make stuff with rice, so this time I did not. And you know what he said? "This would be good with rice".... I used Kraft Spicy Honey barbecue sauce and Smucker's apricot preserves, for reference, and my sauce seemed a little "thin". That being said, had I served over rice... it would have been just right amount-wise. If not serving with rice, I'd say you could use about 50% more chicken or add a little more cornstarch (than what is already in the onion soup mix). Next time I may try to heat it up with red pepper flakes and so forth, but this was pretty good! It would be very easy to adapt this recipe to be "asian" with a little 5 spice powder, ginger, red pepper flakes, etc.

Excellent! I used three chicken breasts and kept all the measurements as called for in the recipe. Delish!

Was ok. Expected it to have more tang from the bbcue, or sweet from the marmalade- but was all so well blended, kind of left you wondering what flavor you were getting.

Excellent, tangy chicken. This gets four stars, not five, since the barbecue sauce drowned out the apricot flavor. If you want great b-b-q chicken try this, but don't expect to taste much apricot.

Definitely a keeper. This was so easy and so tasty. My daughters gave it 5 stars each too. I did follow the advice of others and double the sauce and also added a bit more apricot jam than it called for because I was looking for more of a fruity taste. Delicious. We'll be making this one again and again. Served with steamed rice and a side of broccoli.

I switched the apricot for orange marmalade as per request of my husband but it was wonderful. I would love to try it with the apricot next time though.

Wonderful dish. The bbq sauce and apricots were something I would have never thought to put together, but it was great. I served this with a chicken garlic flavored rice and in the past 2 weeks DH has made me make it two more times! Definitely going on our weekly rotation.

I am leaving this rating only b/c I tried something different and wished I had kept to the original recipe as stated. I was trying to find a substitute for apricot chicken (apricot preserves and russian dressing) so I didn't have to go to the store. So, I prepared it as I would the other way - just mix everything together, cover and bake. Since the chicken was raw when it went in, it didn't absorb the marinade and came out bland. But, as I was mixing it smelled awesome so I want to try again actually reading the directions.. :)

I thought this was really good and sooo easy to put togeteher. Next time I will use more apricot to BBQ sauce as the BBQ kind of overpowered the apricot. My husband came in and saw the BBQ sauce and said "I'm not going to like it". Well I made it and he ate it ALL. 8 year old daughter ate it as well. Thumbs up for this recipe!

This was very easy to make as well as delicious. I made it using whole chicken breasts instead of chopping them up. My boyfriend loved it! He took the leftovers to work for his lunch today.

Husband said this was the best dish! My 2 year old son ate this up too. I had more than enough sauce for the amount of chicken and thickened it up a little with cornstarch and water after it was done baking. We like our sauce to be a little bit thicker.

Snaps for Linda! This was sooooo good. I doubled the sauce and used whole boneless chicken breasts. I sauteed them in olive oil and garlic until they were mostly cooked, about 15-20 min. Then I baked them at 375 for 40 min. and they were delicious!!!
