When cooked a little longer than my waffle timer recomended, they came out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They made the house smell fantastic while cooking! Because of the review on the sausage making them difficult to cook evenly, I crumbled the sausage as small as I could while browning and they cooked fine.

This recipe was ok but I thought it would be better by description. I used maple pork sausage and followed the recipe exactly. I think next time I might put the cooked sausage in the food processor for a few seconds to really crumble it up well. I didn't do that this time and I had bigger chunks of sausage in the waffles (that made it a little more dificult to cook evenly). The apple and sausage flavor was good but there is defintely room for improvement!
