Applesauce/Sausage Waffles
SUBMITTED BY:
Kathy Waldo
"I can remember my mother preparing these hearty 'meal-in-one' waffles when I was growing up. Now I often make them for my own clan using eggs from our chickens, and homemade sausage and applesauce."

This recipe was ok but I thought it would be better by description. I used maple pork sausage and followed the recipe exactly. I think next time I might put the cooked sausage in the food processor for a few seconds to really crumble it up well. I didn't do that this time and I had bigger chunks of sausage in the waffles (that made it a little more dificult to cook evenly). The apple and sausage flavor was good but there is defintely room for improvement!
