Applesauce Sandwiches
SUBMITTED BY:
Eunice Bralley
"Cinnamon and sugar spice up the fun sandwiches that Eunice Bralley makes for breakfast or a snack, 'Since we have plenty of apple trees, I often use homemade applesauce,' reports the Thornville, Ohio cook. 'But the store-bought kind tastes almost as good.'"

I made this for my son for lunch. He had a bit of a belly ache and I figured this would be easy on his belly. He did seem to like it. We might even have it again. Thanks Eunice.

My kids loved these for breakfast and they are quick and easy! I did add sliced banana to them which made them a bit more hearty and filling. This has become a breakfast staple in this house! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

My boys had these for lunch today. I went to make grilled cheese and didn't have any cheese so I decided to give this a try. I was skeptical because my 4 yr old won't eat applesauce-I think it's a texture thing, but both of my boys LOVED these! They could not stop eating them, my 4 yr old even had seconds! I made them slightly different; I buttered both pieces of bread, put one piece on the pan and spread unsweetened applesauce on it then sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with the second piece of bread. When it was done, I sprinkled the top with a little more cinnamon. Thanks for a quick lunch idea!
