This cake keeps well and will stay fresh for picnics or trips. Add a teaspoon of powdered ginger if you want it very spicy. Spread with Cream Cheese Frosting before serving if you wish.

Easy as can be, but can be a dessert you will be proud to serve or give. I let it cool and dust with confectioners' sugar. You may add 1 cup of chopped nuts if you like.
