I used frozen puff pastry dough. These are a lot bigger than I expected! One per person is perfect!

these were the BEST turnovers i have ever had. I would suggest to add more cornstarch as the sauce was too thin. but absolutley deelish!

I was wowed by these delights. I had never used puff pastry before but it was very easy to work with and lived up to the "puff" factor. The filling was heavenly with the apple flavour tasting so fresh. A nice contrast using tart granny smith apples sauteed in a sweet sauce. I brushed the top with a beaten egg and sprinkled turbinado sugar rather than a glaze. These get top marks for appearance. You will be proud of yourself when these come out of your oven. Thanks so much for the recipe.

These are SO good! I've never made turnovers before and was pleased with the results. The icing just makes this recipe! The only change I will make next time is try baking them at 350. They seemed to spill over and burn at 400. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Yum! I made these this morning for breakfast and they were delicious! I didn't have frozen pastry on hand so I used 2 tubes of cresent dough and baked at 375 for 15 minutes. The kids went nuts over them!

These turnovers were perfect. I skipped the lemon water bath and added a little vanilla to the filling. Next time I'll chop the apples into smaller pieces so they'll fit better inside the pastry. For a shiny, professional look, definitely brush with an egg wash before baking and cool completely before drizzling the glaze.

Really delicious and very easy. My only problem was too much filling for the amouth of dough. I think I had really big apples. So this time I have extra dough ready. Also maybe needed a little more cornstarch to thicken my jucy apples. I have also thickened these with flour and it works great. They are always gone in minutes. Now on my favorites list!

this is a great recipe. but feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg and maybe a pinch extra cinnamon. i also did not feel the lemon water thing was necessary. i also think that the thinner you slice the apples, the better because turnovers do not fit very much filling and so you can get more apples in if you thinly slice. and dont undercook the apples because it does taste really good when the turnovers melt in your mouth!

These were really delicious! The apples turned out so tender. I also felt that the glaze added a nice subtle sweetness to them. I'll be making them again on Saturday for a potluck!

Thanks to frozen puff pastry, these are quick and simple with great results. No need to bother with soaking the apples in lemon amd water. Also, I just mixed the cornstarch in with the brown sugar mixture, with no additional water, and cooked the apples until tender and the juices had thickened, then added a little vanilla. After filling and closing the turnovers, I secured the edges by pressing them with a fork, and slit a steam vent in the top. A fantastic bakery-style dessert just doesn't get any easier than this!

These are awesome!!! I pretty much followed the recipe, except I did not use the glaze. I just sprinkled baked turnovers with a little powdered sugar and cinnamon. Next time I plan to try and fit more apples in the pastry somehow, but cutting the apples or making the squares differently. But overall, easy, aromatic, and awesome!!!!! Will most definitely make these again!
