I skipped the lemon juice wash. Added 1 tsp nutmeg and also skipped the glaze. I had extra filling and used it for pancakes the next morning. Delicious!

Great filling, I doubled the spices and added walnuts, also sprinkled raw sugar on the top after applying egg wash. One word of warning, your filling should be cooled considerably prior to adding it to the puff pastry or else the pastry gets too soft to work with.

This was a great recipe. I added a tiny bit more corn starch as other users said the sauce was too thin. But they turned out great. I baked mine for 20 minutes. I also drizzled a little honey on top right before eating one.

Used two medium sized apples, perfect amount for 8 turnovers! The sauce didn't really thicken, so next time I think Id use a bit less brown sugar..they were delicious though!

Fantastic! I made these alterations per other reviews - Used an egg white wash, and topped with sugar before baking - lowered the oven temp to 375. Next time I will use less sugar - too much "sauce", but it was great to top the accompanying vanilla ice cream!

YUMMY. I cut recipe in half because I only had 2 people and one sheet of pastry. There was a lot of sauce for the apple filling, I shouldn't have used it all - it was hard to seal the triangles & seeping out of the seams, and while baking gooped out even more, which burned the bottoms of my turnovers. Still though, they were yummy - I cant wait to try again without burning anything. Next time will cut brown sugar in half, I think that will make less sauce.

My DH requested these (I don't eat sweet stuff) and he loved them. I had leftover filling and he put some of the extra sauce on the top. Said they were great. Thanks for the recipe.

These were great. Had more than enough filling for about 15 turnovers. Bakery quality.

I've made these a bunch of times, usually a double or triple batch, and they always mysteriously disappear! Very very yummy.

Very tasty but VERY messy! The apple filling recipe makes more than it says it will, so it was a good thing I bought extra pastries.

Great easy recipe! Next time I will remember to set out the puff pastry much earlier (40 min to thaw). I would use either smaller apples or only 3 instead of 4. I had too much filling left over, which is fine 'cause I can always use it to make an apple crisp. Thanks for the recipe!

Wow! Tastes like store bought - but better! I cut the recipe in half with no problems. I didn't understand the "unpeel" the layers part - my puff pastry package said not to do that so I just rolled out the dough. The icing really brings out all the flavors so don't skip this step!
