Apple Tuna Sandwiches
SUBMITTED BY:
Taste of Home's Fast Family Favorites
"This tangy tuna salad gets fun flavor from sweet pickle relish and lots of crunch from apples, celery and walnuts. The satisfying sandwiches are a complete meal in themselves."

Hey everyone I calculated the nutritional value for those that need it: This is modified using Kraft Miracle Whip Fat Free instead of mayo, almonds in place of walnuts, and half a whole wheat pita in place of bread. Serving Size one Pita (half tuna can) Recipe makes two servings Calories: 311g Protein: 21.5g Carbs: 31g Fat: 11g Fiber: 2.5g

I can't believe this would get anything lower than a 5, but that's just my opinion! I LOVE this stuff! I have a hard time not eating the whole batch in one sitting. :) And I feel good about what I'm eating! I don't change a thing. This recipe is perfect!

I really liked the apple idea so I used chopped apple, diced celery, applesauce instead of pickle relish, a dash of onion powder instead of chopped onion. My kids loved it and asked for more.

Not one of my favorite recipies. I was not really crazy about the combination of apple with tuna. Would probably be better with the apple left out but then it is pretty much just Tuna salad.
