I made this as written, except for the cloves (I hate clove). The dish was a hit! Very flavorful, and well liked. I think next time I might add more nutmeg to make up for the missing cloves. I cut the apples thinner than called for (I got carried away) & it didn't need the full cook time; I don't know if it's because the apples were thinner or just my oven, but they cooked for me in an hour & 15.

Took the suggestion of doing this in a crockpot on high for three hours, and it turned out fantastic. Will definitely make this again.

Super yummy!! I didn't have the time to bake it in the oven, so I simmered it in a pan on the stove and it turned out perfectly!! Wonderful flavor, Thanks for sharing it!

Im sorry, this is a horrible recipe. My whole family hated this, we fed it to the dogs. We love to try new things but this is not one we will ever attempt again. Maybe my husband did something wrong when making this but he is typically quite a good cook.

LOVED THIS! Made it as is/very odd for me I always add or do something else. Next time I might try crockpot. Nice enough to serve company easy enough for weekday. Kids love it too!
