I read the reviews and feared having flavorless chicken, so I made a few changes and had absolutely NO problem with lack of flavor. I added cinnamon to the apple(granny smith)/cheese/bread crumb mixture and also seasoned the chicken after pounding it out with salt, pepper and garlic salt. I also added a slice of butter to the inside of the chicken when rolling it up (kinda like chicken kiev). I replaced the water with half apple cider and half chicken broth and left the amount of wine the same. It came out perfect, and I was told by one of my guests that it was honestly the best chicken he's ever had.

very good- I did not have white wine on hand so I used one cup of chicken broth- had lots of flavor- good enough to serve guests.

I was so excited to make this dish...and when all was said and done, I found it to be completely underwhelming. Not enough taste - and I really dislike nothing more than bland food. After looking at the ingredient list, I did choose to season my chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper (very liberally, on both sides before adding the stuffing mixture) and even that couldn't save this. If I could offer suggestions...I would say to season the heck out of the chicken, stuff it and then roll it in some additional breadcrumbs (use Panko if you can...they are far better). Also, while the chicken is set to simmer, DO NOT use the water, but instead double the wine or add chicken broth in place. I added about 4oz of fresh mushrooms during the simmer stage and all I can say is thank goodness I did - they were the best part of the meal. Oh, and maybe adding more cheese and some crumbled bacon wouldn't be a bad idea either. Sorry, I am glad I tried but not so sure I want to take the chance with this one again....thanks anyway.

Very, very good. I used swiss cheese and rye bread crumbs (what I had on hand) and substituted apple cider and chicken broth for the liquids.

Snaps for Behr! This was a wonderful dinner. I only made one small change because I didn't have wine. Based on other reviews I used a can of chicken stock instead of wine and water and it was great. Everyone loved the apple cheese combo. Do season the chicken before you brown it, it helps flavor the gravy as well. A definite keeper!!

Yum! I made it with parmesan cheese and it was delish. Family loved it. Make sure you cut the chicken length wise first to make sure the chicken will wrap all the way around the stuffing.

This chicken was sooo easy. The taste was amazing. I did spice the chicken befor I browned it. I also added some left over apple pieces in the sauce, and poured over the chicken. I will make this again!

I simplified this recipe and it still tastes great. I breaded the chicken breasts and filled it with one slice of cheese, thin pieces of apple and pepperidge farm stuffing. I rolled the chicken and put it in a baking pan with chicken broth. (add seasonings to chicken) Baked in oven for 35-45 minutes. Thank you.

Following some of the reviews I also made some changes. I added 1 tsp. apple pie spice to stuffing. Also about 5 minutes before chicken was done I added another diced apple to sauce with 1 tsp. apple pie spice and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I served the thickened sauce over baby carrots. Went great with the (Wild Rice with Rosemary and Cashew Stuffing)as a side. A wonderful meal.

I wished that I had read reviews a little farther back as the chicken needs to be seasoned before rolling up the stuffing. I never follow a recipe exactly so here are my alterations. I don't measure so here goes. To the stuffing mix I added some cinnamon, apple pie spice, curry and currants. I just added spices until it smelled right. To the gravy I added the leftover stuffing which I made extra on purpose, more wine, no water, a couple of splashes of half-n-half, brown sugar, about a tablespoon of maple syrup, curry, salt, and pepper. I reduced the gravy down for a couple of minutes then pureed it to take care of the apple chunks. The gravy was awesome! The chicken was very good with the stuffing that I made, couldn't see or taste the chedder even though I used twice as much. I think that the chicken would have been much better if I had seasoned it before I stuffed it with some salt and pepper at the very least. Overall, it's a good recipe to get started on and add your own touches to! I will be making this again, it was a hit with company over for dinner.

Quite tasty! There was a request from my family to have more of the filling... but I don't think any more would have fit inside the chicken! Maybe add some chopped apples to the gravy and drizzle them on?

Loved this recipe! The chicken was very tender with great favor from the apple, cheese filling. The gravy was great with it. Did not have wine so just used broth and water. My 3 year old son ate all of it and he is not the greatest eater. Will be making this again:)

I followed SIMPLYRAINAH's recommendations and the meal was fantastic. However, following the recipe as is would be a bit bland and thus the 3 stars.

This was really good. I doubled the gravy, and used chicken broth instead of water. I skipped the toothpicks and just wrapped the breasts using cooking string. It took so little time for such a nice dish.
