I make my mom brunch for all her birthdays and mother's days. It's her fav meal :) Anyway, she loves these muffins. I try to make them for those special occasions. They are probably the best muffin ever! So good and yummy. Just hate chopping and peeling all those apples, but worth the effort.

Turned out really well! I did add a few things...I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the batter along with a few shakes of apple pie spice...I also added 1/4 cup sour cream because another reviewer had noted that the muffins were dry...Of course, I doubled the topping!

This was a good base recipe but like many I altered it slightly.. I added 2 cups of small diced apples, 1 cup of applesauce for more moisture, 2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 white sugar 1/2 brown sugar and unfortunately I had to leave out the walnuts due to daughters allergies (bummer because I love walnuts). Instead of the topping I did an oat topping I put on top of my apple pies..1c of oats, 3/4c flour, 1/2c browns sugar, 1 stick of softened butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1tsp cinnamon. Crumble ingredients together add on top of batter before baking.

Very, very good! Did do as other reviewers suggested and doubled the apple, doing half shredded half chopped, and added alittle cinnamon and nutmeg, plus a couple tbsp of applesauce! Made a vanilla glaze to put over the strudel!! Wow I probably gained 10lbs with these muffins as I horded a bunch to myself!!

These did not come out exactly like they were supposed to. But even without the perfect crumbly top, these were THE BEST apple muffins EVER!!!

Delicious! Added a 1/4 cup of walnut chips. I made them on Monday, and had one for breakfast everyday this week. They kept very well. Just wrapped one in a paper towel and warmed it for 15 seconds in the microwave, and it was a tasty breakfast!

overall it was a nice muffin, but it needs something. maybe some lemon zest?? not sure. but my son who won't go near apples or anything that grows in nature, LOVED them. he had no idea apples were even in there bc i chopped the apples pretty small. :) i will definitely make these again.

I made this for a bake sale we were having at work and sold every one! My husband had one, too, and tried to convince me not to take them away, haha! When I came home from work, he had apples waiting and asked me to make a batch for us, too!

Excellent! My mom made these muffins for the whole family and they were a hit! Absolutely scrumptious. She substituted the all-purpose flour for whole-wheat and oat bran. She also reduced the white sugar to 3/4 cup and used olive oil instead of butter. They were very healthy and tasty.

Good basic recipe. I made them as per the recipe but next time I will do what other reviewers have done - shred the apple and add more of it. Also I will add more spices to the batter as it needs a little something more.

These were so yummy. Everyone in my family loves them. I made a few adjustments though. I only used 2 tbsp of butter for the muffins, 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I also shredded half of the apples and chopped up the other half and added 1 tsp of cinnamon to the batter. So tasty

I used 1/2 wheat flour and 1/2 AP. I didn't use butter because I was lazy. Instead I used 1/3 cup canola oil. I shredded my granny smith apples and even threw in some left over shredded zuchinni. Added some cinnamon & nutmeg but omitted then nuts (boyfriend doesn't like them). I added some old fashioned oats to the topping to make it crunchier. Over all I am pleased with this recipe.

I used some of the suggestions by lizzieshome 1/2 whole wheat & 1/2 reg flour also tried shredding some of the apple amd included the cinnamon and nutmeg. I think it turned out fantastic. The only thing I would do differently would be to include some nuts-at least in the topping.

Great muffin. I used the suggestions of the 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 white sugar, used 1 1/2 cups chopped apples and 1 1/2 cups shredded apple. I also added: 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and 1/4 tsp. cloves and a little over 1/4 cup chopped walnuts. I melted the butter for the streusal topping and added in a little oatmeal. my hubby very rarely raves over muffins, but, he loved this one.

These were tasty. I used margarine in the topping, which I think made it a little more oozy than butter would have. All in all quite tasty. Thanks!
