I agree with the majority on these muffins-- they're delicious. A great way to get rid of the surplus of apples I seem to collect during the fall. I did add cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice to the dry ingredients and about 1/4 cup of apple sauce to the moist. I also doubled my apples which tallied to about 4 honeycrisp apples. The strudel topping was not the best that I've had; I felt it was too "sandy", so I will try something different next time. All-in-all this was truly a great recipe!

These are excellent, followed the recipe exactly, except I had about 2 cups of chopped apple. Will make again and use Splenda in place of sugar. I coated the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon (my husband and I like lots of cinnamon) before stirring into the batter. I made 6 jumbo muffins so the bake time increased 25 - 28 minutes.

I don't see what the fuss is. I doubled the apple (shredded half) and still didn't think it came out very moist. I don't think I'll make this again. It's okay - but not worth the calories in my opinion.

These are great, but they make more like 18 muffins. I haven't made the strusel topping yet though since I've been serving them with supper. I added some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. Great, thank you!!!

This is really good!! When I beat my butter, etc. I melted the butter in the microwave and mixed the three ingredients with a whisk, then added the remaining ingredients. These tasted wonderful, and were gone almost as soon as they came out of the oven, and made the house smell great. I highly recommend these as they are not very difficult or time consuming.

Awesome recipe! The muffins are nice and moist. I took everyone's advice and added some cinnamon to the batter. It turned out great.

I followed the suggestions of other reviews and added 1/2 tsp of each cinn. and nutmeg, I also added more apples (about 4 medium honeycrisp apples total). I think I messed up something with the topping because it did not turn into what that picture up there looks like.. it was still delicious though! I also used 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I would also suggest using the double layered muffin paper. The apple juice is very sticky and may make the muffins difficult to remove from the tray.

Didnt taste a whole lot like apples to me but still good- not great. Maybe it could have used more apples.and additional spices. I may make these again with a few changes.

I used 2 cups of shredded apples, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 c sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar, and I doubled the crumbly topping. Muffins were delicious and a hit with everyone in my family, including those who do not like apples!

Did not care for this recipe, taste was bland and texture not as good as the recipe for To Die for Blueberry Muffins.

I made some modifications, namely doubling the amount of apples and spicing up the batter with cinnamon and reducing the amount of streusel on top. The muffins came out very tasty. A little on the sweet side for my taste so I will probably reduce the amount of sugar next time. Otherwise, a great muffin recipe. Thanks!!

I replaced the flour with whole wheat, decreased the sugar to half (used 1/4 cup brown, 1/4 cup white), and used applesauce instead of butter. I grated about 1 cup of the apple and diced the rest. I added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg to the batter, and did not use the topping. The muffins turned out really good and are much healthier than the original recipe.

So easy to prepare and bake. The best use for all the extra apples I had laying around. The muffins were very moist. I did use closer to two cups diced apple and added more cinnamon to the strudel topping. Next time I'd probably add a little more cinnamon to the batter as well.

With the modifications others suggested, these were wonderful. I used half brown and half white sugar, used two apples and added 1 teaspoon cinnamon to the batter. I made them for the new neighbors next door, and I was really glad I made them rather than buy them something from the store.

I make my mom brunch for all her birthdays and mother's days. It's her fav meal :) Anyway, she loves these muffins. I try to make them for those special occasions. They are probably the best muffin ever! So good and yummy. Just hate chopping and peeling all those apples, but worth the effort.
