Yum! I reduced the sugar to 3/4 of a cup but still a bit too sweet, 2/3 cup mixture of the brown and white sugar would probably be perfect. I also only used 2 tablespoons for the sugar/cinnamon topping, made a nice top crust. Used probably more like 1 cup of chopped apples and 1/2 cup of wheat flour in place of some of the white flour since I ran out.

To die for...had these at a church function that smeone else had made. Went right home and made them for myself. My entire family loved them. I did follow other's suggestions and added more apple (2 whole apples) and it was delicious.

I doubled this recipe and baked in a 9x13 pan. I made two separate batches, one in a glass pan and one in a lined metal pan. They both came out the same, delicious! I took them to work and they were all gone by lunch time. I highly recommend this recipe!

This was a good base recipe and it would have been much better but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO overly sweet! And I have the biggest sweet tooth ever, so for me to say that really says something. I would cut the white sugar completely. Also, I would NOT put sugar on the top....sprinkle it with cinnamon is fine. They are more like cake than bars. I think I would make a rum sauce to drizzle over these and they would be fabulous! Overall, TOO MUCH SUGAR!

Excellent! Can't keep it in the kitchen! I did not use the walnuts, but I did add a 1/8 tsp of almond extract! Tastes great, will definitely make this every apple season!!

A moist, delicious bar. The smell when these are baking is divine! I cut both sugars to 3/4 of a cup and it was more than enough.

OMG!!! These were sooo good. I thought that they were very easy to make too. They just got out of the oven and thought that they were not going to live up to my expectations, but I was wrong they are great! Thanks so much for the great recipe.

Yummy, these bars are so delicious! I made 1 1/2 times the recipe to put in a 9x13 pan. (I used 2 eggs, pecans instead of walnuts). I didn't increase the sugar on the topping. I'll be making these again (and again)!

So easy and tasty for breakfast. I baked this in a souffle pan and cut them into pie wedges. It was gone before lunch. Must make this one again.

Yummy fall dessert! Used one medium apple. I didn't have vanilla extract so I substituted almond extract and it was fine. I'll try it with the vanilla next time.

Loved it! My hubby said this tasted like apple pie. I used 1/2 white flour and 1/2 whole wheat flour and it came out great. Not that healthy but very yummy!

This recipe is good. I used a 9x9 dish but doubled the recipe. I also added about 1/4 cup more apples (gala), I also used splenda (substituted it for half of all sugars it called for), bake for additional 5-8 mins. Toothpick was just gooey at the end of pick. All 6 of my family members LOVED this.
