This recipe has unique & great flavour, but I have to say it is a little awkward to serve with thick applesauce slopped on the sausage. I think less applesauce and maybe baking them on a baking sheet should help them caramelize. I was hoping that the applesauce would bake down some in the oven, but after an hour of cooking it was still the same consistency as what I put in the oven.

I did not like this at all - tried italian sausage and kielbasa. My son liked it - must be a 'guy food'. I was hoping to use it for our 'apple fest' party, but decided against it after making a sample batch. Blah..

I have been making this for years and guests always ask for recipe. EASY TOO! I use 1/4 c. brown sugar and add 1/4 c. ketchup. Anyway you do it you can't really fail.

Good flavor, got good reviews from our friends. But I wanted it to reduce more, so the sausage was really glazed with the applesauce. We cooked it nearly 2 hours, uncovered, and still was fairly soupy.

I made this for a family gathering and wanted to make it ahead of time--when the party time arrived I simply threw the pre-baked mess into my crock pot and it turned out great. Next time, though, I think I will drain at least some of the juice out of the applesauce because it was a little too runny for perfection.

I thought this recipe was too sweet. I like the taste of Polish sausages simply grilled and served.

This is a new family favorite! I didn't have chunky applesauce the first time I made it, but smooth works great. We used polish sausage cut in 1-inch pieces and I add a bit of garlic powder to the mix as well. We always serve it with German potato pancakes and sour cream. Oh so good!

This recipe was very easy and very unique. My guests liked it, but they didn't rave. I think the combination of applesauce and sausage might have "scared" them a little.
