Apple Sausage Appetizers
SUBMITTED BY:
Dolores Barnas
"In Blasdell, New York, Dolores Barnas bakes sausage slices in a sweet glaze. This no-fuss appetizer makes plenty, so it's great for a football party or holiday gathering...just serve with toothpicks."

This was wonderful! I made it for a football game snack. My picky eaters made faces but when I made them try it it mysteriously completely disappeared! I am going to make it again fro my upcoming holiday cocktail party! The only change that I made was using homemade applesauce,

I made this for a family gathering and wanted to make it ahead of time--when the party time arrived I simply threw the pre-baked mess into my crock pot and it turned out great. Next time, though, I think I will drain at least some of the juice out of the applesauce because it was a little too runny for perfection.

This was a big hit at Thanksgiving. It was really strange to make because I didn't know what to do with it afterwards. I pulled out all the sausage and put it on toothpicks with Applesause still on them. I would probably use only one & one half containers of Apple sauce because I had lots left over. The guys loved it!!!

This is a new family favorite! I didn't have chunky applesauce the first time I made it, but smooth works great. We used polish sausage cut in 1-inch pieces and I add a bit of garlic powder to the mix as well. We always serve it with German potato pancakes and sour cream. Oh so good!

This recipe was very easy and very unique. My guests liked it, but they didn't rave. I think the combination of applesauce and sausage might have "scared" them a little.

I have been making this for years! Sometimes I will add cinnamon also. It is always a hit at parties. I usually make it in the slow cooker.

I thought this recipe was too sweet. I like the taste of Polish sausages simply grilled and served.
