Using whole wheat flour, applesauce instead of oil, and halving the sugar doesn't take the taste away and makes for a healthier-than-usual muffin.

I made these for the teachers that I work with and they were amazed at how gorgeous these turn out and how delicious they tasted. My husband works at a Panera Bread, and they thought that he had brought them home. Excellent!!!

These muffins are already gone -- they were a huge hit at breakfast! I grated the apple on a box grater instead of dicing (to save time) and the muffins turned out incredibly moist and delicious. The streusel topping gave them a nice crunchy top. Perfect!

This was great! I took the advice from some of the other reviews and added only half the sugar, used applesauce instead of oil, and used half of wheat flour. They are great and I didn't even add the topping making them a healthier snack.

This is a very good muffin recipe. I reduced the sugar by half, and I used apple sauce instead of oil. The first night the muffins stuck to the paper muffin-cups, and I though I might have overcooked them. But, by the next morning they easily separated from the paper and the muffins were very moist. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Of the 5 different muffins that I made, husband liked these the best. (he would prefer it without the topping.) And we liked the apples in there. One large apple was enough for the amt called for. nice recipe..thank you!

Big hit, very moist, the streusel makes them look very attractive. I reserve judgment on the apple--dicing them was too big, though they cooked just fine; not sure they really added anything to the taste. Use tarter apples? Shred them?

I just made these. I decreased the amount of sugar by 1/2 cup, but they are still a bit too sweet. Despite that sweetness, though, they taste fantastic. They are nice and moist. The next time I make them, I will probably cut the sugar by at least half, and maybe add white chocolate chips or chunks.

Very good recipe. Everyone liked these muffins. However, as written these would be WAY too sweet. I cut the sugar in half and felt that they were still too sweet with the topping. Next time I'll cut down the sugar even more and leave off the topping. I think these would be good with fresh cranberries instead of the apples, too.
