I've been making this recipe for years from my QC cookbook. They are devoured by the kids at their Fall parties at school. Yes they are sweet and delicious, but they have pumpkin and apple so it's better than bringing in candy!

Taste Update: I was so bummed! No one in my house liked these. I thought they were fabulous, very moist & fruity, great with a thick pat of butter. I ended up taking most of them to my sons' school where I am sure they were better appreciated (: Original review: Mixture was very dry! I read through some of the reviews and only one person mentioned this. But I had the same problem with my mom's favorite muffin recipe and I called her and I had forgotten to write down the milk. Hers takes 2 cups of flour and she said to put in one cup of milk. So I am thinking 1/2 cup of milk per 1 cup of flour is a good ratio? I halved this recipe and ended up with 1 and 1/4 cups of flour so I put in about 3/4 cup of milk. We have been on a muffin making mission lately and the consistency looked about right. Also, halved the recipe and came up with 12 muffins so with the milk addition, this makes alot! Will update on taste...

These are exactly what I was looking for! Delicious muffins, with a good pumpkin flavor, but the apples keep them from being boring and "predictable". Thanks to all the reviewers - I took a lot of your advice! Used 1.5 cups of AP flour, and 1 cup of WW flour, only used about 1 cup of sugar, used the whole can of pumpkin, applesauce instead of the oil, and just a shake more pumpkin pie spice. Also didn't peel the apples. And I did do the streusel, but used 2 T. of butter total (it needed it). We both love them! I can't imagine making the recipe as it was written, so that's why it's not 5 stars. But definitely recommend with these changes! (and by the way - this recipe is exactly the same as the other one on this site with the identical title... not sure why there are two of the same!)

I needed to use some fresh pumpkin and apples and this fit the bill. Great recipe and I will definitely be making these again.

I made these muffins for a family brunch this morning and they were such a hit! Everybody was surprised to find out they were homemade. I cut the sugar almost in half (used 1 1/3 cup) and if I had used any more, I think it would have been too sweet. Also, the recipe made way more batter than I needed for my 12-count muffin pan

had left over pumpkin from thanksgiving and thought I'd give this recipe a try.. what a great success ~~ husband took them to work for a nice coffee break snack, I did add a bit of applesauce as the batter looked a bit thick. other than that they came out yummy.

Very good. I did use just 1/3 c. oil and they were moist enough. I didn't measure the apples but just used two small Granny Smith apples. These will definitely be a fall staple in our house. Thanks for sharing!

These are very moist and yummy! I made a few changes to make them a bit healthier. Instead of 1/2 cup oil, I used 2 tsp oil and 1/2 c applesauce. Instead of 2 apples, I used 1 Fuji apple (peeled and chopped) and 1 banana (mashed up). Instead of 2 cups sugar I used 1/2 cup White sugar and 1/2 cup Brown sugar. Everything else, the same.

these are freakin awsome! i make them with whole wheat pastry flour. I brought in a batch for my students (13 14 year olds) who "hate healthy food" and have probable never eaten pumpkin and they begged for more tomorrow!

These are soooooo yummy! I did reduce the sugar to 1 1/2 cups and they were just fine - not too sweet. I didn't have muffin papers so I just sprayed the tins and they popped right out. I will make these again!

My husband's first response was "excellent". His second was "amazing"- Two words he usually reserves for cookies! He practically begged me to let him take these to work (everyone loved them) and insists I make them again. I brought a few to work for some of the other ladies and all of them loved them! I will be making this again! (and again and again if my husband has anything to say about it!

These needed some extra pumpkin flavor, but they were very good and filling. I think next time I'll add more pumpkin and a little less sugar. I LOVE the apple pieces in it! Really adds to the muffin!

Very tasty and easy. I didn't use the struesal topping - instead I just topped with some pepitas and they were lovely. I also chopped the apple in the food processor for quicker prep.

Makes great muffins, super moist. I did make some changes after reading some of the comments. I only used 1 cup of sugar. I also increase the pumpkin to 1½ cups. i also added some candied ginger to the streusel.
