Recipe tastes good. A couple hints to prevent the mess others were complaining about. 1) Place dough on wax paper that's been sprinkled with flour and use wax paper to help roll it up. 2) You can use 3 apples, but you really only need a little more than two cups of finely chopped apples. Strain before using (excess liquid = difficult to work with). Just add enough apple mix until the dough is evenly covered but not over done. Also, you don't need to add all of the sauce as well. Personally next time I make this treat, I am using less sugar. Probably 1/4 white and 1/4 brown sugar in the sauce mixture. They are really sweet.

this tastes really good, but wow, what a mess it was working with that crescent dough. It looked horrible when done, but still tasted good. I think next time I'll just make an apple pie...it would be a lot easier!

My gram made "Apple DoughCake" that was very similar to this. It was rather dry, and patching the cresent roll dough was harder than just making a simple biscuit dough and patting it into a rectangle. then just pile on the apples and cinnamon sugar, roll like a jelly roll(a long spatula helps with that)and slice into pinwheels. Then pour a simple syrup (2 parts sugar to 1 part water, dissolved)over all and bake- much moister and "saucier" this recipe.

Taste is definitely 5 stars! But the dough is really tricky. I would suggest overlapping the edges just a little and pressing down to seal edges. I made this for my son's 1st grade class and they loved it! And they didn't care what they looked like, so it worked out fine this time. Thanks

Taste great, but what a mess I had! I think my problem was that I took the crescent roll dough out of the fridge too early. It all started to fall apart on me when I started to roll it. Next time, I'll leave the dough in the fridge until right before I need it.

These are so easy and delicious. I didn't have butter so I used margarine and it worked well, though it made a lot of sauce so I only used about half of it. I also had issues with the dough falling apart, so I wet my fingers with water and rubbed the seams, and sort of held it all together as I rolled. Then I placed them in greased muffin tins to keep them from falling apart. I will make these again.

Well it tasted good, but looked pretty bad. First of all, the cresent roll dough seams cannot "be pressed together". I ran a rolling pin repeatedly over all the seams and pressed them together by hand, but all the sections still came apart when I tried to roll it up. It made a huge mess, so I ended up taking sections of the dough and rolling it individually with the filling. Instead of apple pinwheels, I served apple in gobs of dough. I plan on trying this recipe again using a real dough recipe made for rolling.
