I used my own pie crust recipe, but used this recipe for the filling and it was fantastic! I suggest using golden delicious apples.

The only change I made was omitting the ginger, simply because I was out of ginger and too lazy to go buy some. Excellent recipe. Everyone loves it and it smells amazing while it's baking. Thanks for the awesome recipe, just like my Grandma used to make. I'd give it 100 stars if I could

We wanted baked apples for breakfast and I used a portion of the recipe for just that (minus pie crust). Thanks!

Really good recipe! I altered it a little bit, to try to save on calories. I used a whole wheat crust (first time too!) and instead of regular brown sugar the Splenda variety - of which you need 1/4 instead. My pie was done perfectly, not soggy or runny. The apples I used were granny smith. The sweetness (for my husband and I) intensity was just right.

I really enjoyed this one. When I made it the apples were still a little firm, but I don't like mushy pie. Also the sauce is a bit runny for an apple pie, but I think it worked in its favor. Otherwise it was amazing, my kids loved it, which says something, they don't like fruit pies. And it was picture perfect out of the oven.
