I made this for the first time and it was FANTASTIC even though I left it in the oven too long!

It was just ok for me. a good way to use the oatmeal we had for a long time in home. I think 45 min it's not enough to have it crunchy.I cooked it for 55 min but I still could have cooked it for longer time.

I'd made, apple crisp once before about fifteen years ago. I am glad that I decided to make it again, and that I used this particular recipe. I squeezed lemon over the chopped apples to retain their color. This no doubt slightly altered the flavor of the original recipe, but for sure did it no injustice. It may, have cut the sweetness a bit, and given it a added tang. I liked the flavor and the slightly chewy texture of the bottom crust. I ate just a small square of it, and was extremely satisfied.

This was a good recipe and I'll try making it again soon. I used half the sugar which seemed like a lot, but then I had tart apples and they could have used it, I also added some cinnamon to the oatmeal mixture. It baked like a charm and smelled so good. Next time I won't use such tart apples, but that was my own mistake. A great recipe.

This recipe is SOO sweet. (but that doesn't mean it's not delicous!) I will cut the brown sugar/flour/butter in half next time (the mixture is so sweet it nearly makes a caramel sauce on the bottom - which I suppose would be great w/ ice cream!), combine the cinn/sugar mixture with the apples, and add pecans or walnuts. I'd like to serve this to guests but fear that it might be a bit too sweet. Yummy though!

Just served this last night with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Was well received. I added a cup or so apples than it caused for, and did not even use close to the 1/2 cup of sugar it called for. That would have been way too much. Otherwise very simple and good. Next time I might add more spices.

I thought this was very tasty. I used 1 cup of Quaker simple harvest instant hot cereal. It was the maple brown sugar and pecans but if you use this you might want to put less brown sugar, came out really sweet for me. I sliced the apples about an half inch thick and layered it over the cereal, came out looking like apple pie. Excellent with vanilla ice cream.

Very good recipe! It was a little too sweet for my taste so next time I think I'll leave out the sugar. The apples themselves should be plenty sweet. But it was very good and super easy to throw together!

I think this recipe is great. Since people said that it baked somewhat I dry I lined the pan with butter and decreased the flour to 3/4 a cup and it was fantastic! The entire pan was gone within 30 minutes after baking. I actually baked a second pan the same day.

My husband and I thought this was tasty but it was very sweet. I imagine if I had used Granny Smith Apples and less sugar this would be delicious.

I used less sugar for the topping and margarine instead of butter. It had a good flavor. Topped it with some reddi whip.

Can I just say AMAZING!!! This recipe was absolutely delicious. I followed it exactly except I took the white sugar and cinnamon and coated the apples in it instead of just topping them. It was perfect severed with ice cream and/or whipped cream.

We love this recipe! The only change I made was to use about 4 1/2 cups of apples (4 apples) instead of 3 cups, and to cook it a bit longer. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!
