YUMMY! Made it w/ Cortland apples and served w/ vanilla ice cream. DH requests that I double the amount of apples next time.

Wonderful late night fall-time snack! I didn't have any brown sugar so I used 1/2 cup white sugar along with close to 1/4 cup Maple Syrup. It was NOT too sweet this way! Just perfect! I made a crunchy strudel-type top to make the top crunchy! (1/4 stick soft butter, few shakes cinnamon, enough oatmeal to make it crumbly when mixed with a fork!) The only thing that I would like differently about this recipie was if it were a bit more crunchy, but that's personal preference!

Terrific! I did make some modifications, mostly that I didn't exactly measure anything. I used the recipe as a guideline, but probably used more cinnamon, flour and less sugar than called for. It was delicious topped w/vanilla ice cream. Thanks for the recipe!

This was delicious! I added some nutmeg and vanilla to apples and I added a bit more butter to the crumb mixture--had lots on bottom and top--family loved it!

This was really good. I ommitted the white sugar part, as my apples were pretty sweet. I also added cardamom, cloves and allspice. This was a really yummy recipe.

Came out fragrant, delicious, hot and bubbly. Quick and easy to prepare. Used 6 Red Delicious Apples and split into 3 small dishes. I enjoyed the baked crisp top more so than bottom moist crumb layer. Will do again whenever I have apples handy. Hard to mess this one up.

This is my favorite "crisp" recipe so far. My husband said it wasn't "juicy" enough but the last one I tried was too "juicy" so there's no pleasing everyone all the time! I reduced the sugar by more than half overall in this recipe as I was using nice, sweet Gala apples. I used 1/2c. in the oatmeal mixture and for the final "sprinkling" I used less than 1/4 of a cup, I literally just sprinkled Splenda over the apples and then used the cinnamon bottle's shaker feature to shake it over the apples before topping with the other half of the oatmeal mixture. I also replaced half the white flour with whole wheat flour, and I wouldn't have known the difference. I did not have the required 8 tablespoons of butter; I only had 5 left! So I melted these and added heavy cream to make up the rest. Butter would've tasted better, but heavy cream did work fine, though I wouldn't do that again on purpose. I will definitely make this again :-)

I didn't get to try this recipe because I made it for friends who recently had a baby. They described it as "amazing" so I thought I'd give it a five star rating. I put some of the brown sugar/oatmeal mixture on bottom and then mixed the remaining with the apples. I used a little less white sugar than called for and it sounds like it turned out very well!

Delicious Recipe! We normally go with the box to make apple crisp and they were all out of the packeged kind. I figured that there must be a good recipe here and I tell you, I hit the Jack Pot! My husband and kids loved it and so did I... Thank you for sharing.

I only used a sprinkle of white sugar, added 1/4 butter, some raisins, and didnt have enough apples so I added some applesauce. Yummy! Next time I'll skip the white sugar completely and cut the brown sugar in half, keep the raisins and skip the extra butter.

Best one yet, I added 1/2-3/4 c chopped cranberries, 3/4 c choc chip or other kind & 1/2 c apple juice over top of crisp, then baked. The most moist crisp I've ever tried or eaten. I used 5 small or 4 med. apples. I also added a little apple pie spice.

I had hard time getting my daughter to like any apple crisp I made. I think I struck gold with this one, she asked for second helping. I omitted white sugar as I felt it was sweet enough. I didnt have any cinnamon on hand so I used allspice. It is awesome and now sitting in my recipe box for future cooking.

For fruit lovers: After looking at several recipes and reading the comments, I did the following: - Increased the apples to 4 cups and mixed them with the juice of a whole lemon - Mixed in 1 1/2 cups blackberries and put all the fruit and juice in a 4" deep ceramic casserole pot 9" in diameter - Decreased the brown sugar to 3/4 c - Decreased the oats to 3/4 c - Decreased the flour to 1/2 c - Added 1/4 c finely chopped nuts - Did not use any white sugar I mixed the dry ingredients (oats, brown sugar, flour, chopped nuts and 1T cinnamon) together first ,then added the melted butter. I put all of the crumb topping on the apple/berries - just covered them. It was moist and tasty. The crisp wasn't too sweet for me, but sweet enough for my teenaged daughter and all her friends who loved it.

This is a great recipe! I didn't use all of the 1/2 cup sugar, and I also added pecan pieces to the fruit mixture. It's also excellent with peaches instead of apples!

This was rather tasty- followed general recipe but added some ground flax seed to oatmeal mixture and also threw in some craisins with apples. Had to add some extra butter and cook a little longer but overall was pleased with outcome. DD loved it with ice cream.

Great, basic recipe. I chose this recipe since it had easy to put together ingredients and the results were fantastic. I did use blueberries instead of apples since it is blueberry season, but I think this is a recipe you can easily adapt to any type of fruit! Used splenda instead of white sugar.
