If this is not heaven in a bowl, please don't shake me and wake me up and tell me I'm dreaming. I add a tad of cinnamon to the crips mixture and a bit of lemon juice to the apples. I sigh in deep satisfaction.

I cheated and used a can of apple pie filing because it was all I had on hand. Everyone LOVED it!!! Great fast dessert. Easy to keep all ingredients on hand for that last minute request or suprise guest. I'll make other apple crisp, but because of ease, this one is a keeper!!!

Excellent! I doubled this recipe for a 9x13 pan, and mixed the sugar/cinnamon mixture in with the apples! There wasn't any left after the 6 of us got at it!

Followed exactly and loved it - actally tasted like a carmel apple when heated and served w/ a scoop of ice cream. Used yellow delicious - not exactly meant for cooking, but getting too soft to eat, and it was fine. Thanks for a yummy recipe!

Too much crisp and not enough apple. I will make this again but will use more and thicker apple slices. I also will not use as much sugar. Don't forget to toss in a Granny Smith apple as the tart balances out the sweet. Delicious!

Very tasty. I omitted the white sugar over the apples part, because the apples I was using were sweet enough as is it was. I probably increased the butter, didn't actually measure, jut added untill the oat mixture was a good consistency. I added some real vanilla and a few tsps of almond extract to the butter before I added it to the oats. (I really like almond flavour and apples together) I also added the cinnamon right to the oatmeal mixture, rather then sprinkle it on the apples. Oh, and I added some nutmeg as well. Served it warm, a la mode, and it was greeat! Thanx for this recipe! :)

I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out very dry, so dry in fact we were unable to eat it. The oatmeal mix remained powdery. I would not attempt this one again!

I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9"x13" pan. Served with home-made vanilla ice cream, this one was a winner! I noticed some of the reviews that said this was dry- it all depends on the type of apple you use! I use a combo of Gala, Granny Smith and Fuji, with great results. My girlfriend used red delicious and ended up with a dry and disappointing Crisp.

This is the BEST apple crisp I've ever had. Even better than how Grandma used to make. I don't know why I never thought to have oatmeal crisp on the top & bottom- since the crisp is the best part.

Very good and EASY! I was going to use apple pie filling and sliced pears (long story) and only added about half of the butter, since we were very low on it. I forgot about my plan to add the pie filling until after I had put the topping layer on. I improvised by adding some pancake syurp (with butter flavor) on top to add some moisture and flavor. It worked well and everyone loved it. Very easy to add stuff to this recipe.

I doubled the recipe and put it in a 9 x 13 pan. Worked great. The second time I made it I actually mixed the white sugar, cinnamon, and apples before putting it on the crumbs. My family liked it a lot better that way.
