This was awesome, though I have to give it 4 stars, as I changed it a bit... Here are my changes: used butter flavored shortening, and didn't have quite enough, so I added a couple of Tbsp plain yogurt. Also, used one jumbo Courtland apple (sweet rather than tart), and added a little cloves and nutmeg. We loved it! My husband said it was hard to stop eating, and between the two of us we polished off 2/3 of it. I would definitely double this recipe for our family.

I was just so tired of the usual chocolate and pound cakes, so i tried this one.Its fantastic!!! I added 2 eggs instead of 1(which gave it better body) and increased the cinnamon to 1 teaspoon. It was such a hit with my family, that i had to bake another one the same day!

I needed something special one day and found this in here. I tried it and it was a big hit!!!! I also tried it using raisins in place of the nus. I prefer the nuts but some guests said they liked theraisins. Thank you so much!!

This coffee cake was perfect. The only things I did different were, I added a little more cinnamon, and used pecans instead of walnuts, because that is what I had on hand, and sprinkled a little brown sugar on top. The forty minutes produced a nicely done moist, not mushy, not crumbly cake. Oh! It was quick and easy as well.

Simple, quick, and easy to make. It's nice to have for breakfast if you like something a little on the sweet side. I thought of it more like a dessert. Not what I expected for a coffee cake.
