I used 1/2 cup brown sugar for the flour mixture topping, as suggested by other reviewers, and LOTS of cinnamon, and it was *fantastic*... this was the best crumble I've ever had!

So easy and delicious. Although, using less sugar/cinnamon mixture on top of pie won't hurt.

This is a great recipe, I did as others suggested and changed the white sugar in the topping to brown, I did play with the streusal topping a bit, it turned out just lovely.....

This pie was very good, it would have been a 5 if it wasn't so watery. I added vanilla and cinnamon in the topping and added cinnamon and nutmeg (and did half white/half brown sugar) in the apples, which i mixed together before placing them in the pie, as another reviewer suggested. Overall a simple and easy pie to make.

I really enjoyed making this pie it was quick and easy. I used granny smith apples and I felt it needed more sugar. Next time I make this pie I will follow the other reviewers suggestions and use brown and white sugars and add vanilla to the topping. Otherwise great pie :)

WOW! Outstanding recipe! I also followed the advice and used 1/2 brown sugar. My father, (a diabetic) loved it so much he couldn't help sneaking extra servings - the next day his blood sugar soared. I am now forbidden to ever bring this excellent dessert to my parents' house (dad just doesn't have the will power).

I make this with Wheat Crust and soy butter. It makes it organic and Vegan and my Meat-Lovving boyfriend is obsessed with it. It's a huge crowd pleaser!

Excellent recipe and a nice change from regular apple pie. My husband (who isn't a fan of apple pie) said this was the best I ever made and to throw out any other apple pie recipes I have! Thank you!

With a few modifications that the others recommended, this pie came out awesome! I got tons of compliments from my co-workers. I halved the white sugar and substituted w/brown sugar for the filling and topping. And also added a few tbsp of flour for the filling which definitely helped with the consistency. Definitely a keeper! Thanks!

This was my first apple pie, turned out great. I used a frozen pie shell, washington apples. Put a layer of the mixture on the bottom, in between the apples and top. I added brown sugar, 1tsp of vanilla and 1tsp cornstarch. I used the whole stick of butter and it turns out as a crust and not a crumble, but still better than a regular pastry crust. sprinkled cinnamon on the top and covered the crust with foil. I would put something underneath the crust because some butter melted off the side.

OMG! This was soooo good. My first shot at making apple pie for my 9 year, and the three us downed 3/4's of it. Only thing I did different was adding a little flour to the apples along with the spices and mixing all together instead of layering. Served with a dollup of whipped cream and ice cream for my 9 year old. Will make again soon.
