Very good pie recipe. The crumb mixture tastes okay, but didnt look like anything special. I think by tomorrow it will be soggy. Still does taste just great!

Great Recipe! This was the first pie that me and my girlfriend ever made and even with simple novices like us we were able to make this taste great. We went apple picking and decided to try this out. I will say one thing though you definitely need to double the amount of crumb topping otherwise you wont have enough to cover the whole pie.

This pie is wonderful! It was my first ever attempt at baking a homemade apple pie, and my boyfriend & I are very pleased! I did choose to leave out the raisins and nuts, though. I know I'll be making this pie again and again!

This was really good! I found it a bit sweet but my family said NO WAY! All ingredients are on hand at home so it makes it easy to just "whip up". I added pumpkin pie spice because I had it on hand. Will make again for thanksgiving dessert!!!

I really loved this recipe except it was a bit sweet but it came looking beautifully! Perhaps one of the reasons mine came out sweet was the addition of craisins which have their own sugar, but the topping is super sweet but still very good. I will be making this pie for Thanksgiving at my mothers with the addition of some caramel just under the topping. It is a request!

Wow! Thumbs up! This was wonderful. I did double the crumb mixture and add more cinnomon to the apple mix and a teaspoon of butter. We all loved this. Thank you!

OMGosh! Sooo good. Can't keep it in the house. I double the spices and also double the topping. I made one the other night to give to my in-laws and my seven-year-old had a nervous breakdown when he realized that he wasn't getting a piece!

The crust was soggy on the bottom, the topping wasn't crispy, and the filling was watery.

Amazing apple pie. Simple to make and delicious. I found that the yummy taste was exacerbated after letting it sit a day or two.

I had a bag full of fresh apples from our apple tree. I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. I took the advice from other's and doubled the topping. I also made the mistake of not tasting the apples before adding the sugar, because boy! was it sweet! I also forgot to up the amount of flour, so it was a bit watery. All in all, came out really good, even despite my errors. But it was very sweet. Next time I will add more flour to the apple mixture and use less sugar. It's a keeper tho!

This pie was really good. I did like other reviewers and upped cinnamon to 1-1/2 tsp, nutmeg to 1/2 tsp, flour to 4 tablespoons and doubled crumb mix. Looked like it was going to be too much topping but i packed it on and it turned out really good. Also used deep dish pie dish. Hubby loved it

Hands down the best apple pie recipe! I did not add the walnuts, but it still turned out perfectly. I used roughly 4 granny smith apples. I also doubled the cinnamon and nutmeg with the apple mixture as well as doubling the crumb topping. For a couple minutes at the end I put the pie under the broiler on low to give it a nice crisp texture. Make sure to place a pan beneath the pie plate to prevent drippings from falling on the oven! I used the French Pastry Pie Crust recipe from this site and it was perfect. I made this for the Fourth of July and it was loved by everyone!

This is an excellent pie recipe. If your apples seem to be extra juicy like mine were, add up to 4 TBS more flour - until the apples are well coated - this prevents a water pie. I used an equal amount of apple pie spice in place of the other spices. Also, you should always taste your apples before you make your pie - if they are on the sweet side, cut back on the sugar; and if they are unusually tart you might want to add an extra 1/4 cup of sugar.

This pie was easy and great but needs more spice. At least double or triple the amount cinnamon and nutmeg in the filling. Like others I would also increase the amount of crumb topping maybe 1 and a half times what the recipe calls for.

A good apple pie..but nothing spectacular either. It's too much work for an ordinary result for me. (all that peeling and coring and slicing). And if your apple is a bit sour i think it's a good idea to add little sugar to the apple mix. The brown sugar mix isn't enough to cover the entire pie, so make sure you make more.

This is an AWESOME recipe! This was my first pie I have ever made, and I recvd SO MANY compliments! I used 2 kinds of apples, Macintosh and Granny Smith. I also put more flour for the filling so its not runny and it works! The topping was crispy and GOOD! I have made this 3x already and everytime I am asked for the recipe! :) THIS IS THE APPLE PIE RECIPE TO MAKE! GUARANTEED! (side note: I did w/o the raisins and nuts, not a big fan)
