Very Good! It needs to be made in a deep dish pie crust. I made it in a regular crust and doubled the crumb mixture as suggested by others and it did spill over. But I lined my cookie sheet with crinkled foil. I did use 2 more tablespoons of flour with the apples to thicken it up. Very tasty. Everyone loved it. I will make it again.

This pie is just awesome ~ (I did not use the nuts and raisins) I did use a store bought crust (time saver) and I used granny smith apples.

Yum! I had some apples I needed to use up. Since they were a sweeter variety (I usually use Granny Smith for pies), I cut way back on the white sugar that is mixed in with the apples. I was worried about it being too runny, so I made sure to let it cool completely. It was just right. My husband ate over half of the pie himself!

This was the first pie I've ever made and it turned out DELICIOUS! I used granny smith apples and followed the recipe exactly. I cooked it just a few minutes longer to get the top golden brown. This was the best home-made apple pie I've ever had.

I love this pie. It was very delicious. I enjoyed every piece that I ate. I normaly don't love apple pies but this was amazing. We did not use the raisins or walnut and it was still great!

So yummy!!!! I added a big spoon of quick cooking tapioca also so that it wouldn't come out runny...which my pies have been doing lately....came out perfect!

This was a delicious pie, yum.... However, the crumb topping was soft and mushy the next day. I recommend eating this pie on the day you bake it.

Sooo Good! Made as is except for the topping (I was out of Brown Sugar, so I made a strudel topping) Delicious, I wish it would have lasted longer...

Had a lot of Empire apples on hand so I decided to make this pie so not to let them go to waste - very easy to make however my family found this to be to sweet next time will try different apples and cut sugars back some - vanilla ice cream on top a plus for this.

Update: Made this morning for dinner later at mom's. I make it with the refrigerated store bought pie crust, 6 large granny smith apples, and I did add 2 xtr TB of flour to thicken the juice. I also put in the raisins and walnuts. I also added another 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and as usual doubled up the crumb topping mixture. It looks beautiful and I can't wait to taste!
