This wasn't good at all. After a few bites, even the kids wouldn't eat any more. The orange and lemon juice adds an extremely strong flavor - I would omit them both altogether. I also found the insides too watery. The apples probably could stand being tossed with some flour to help thicken the natural juices. I have no plans to make this again.

Best apple pie I've ever made. Easy recipe. I used half brown sugar half white in both the filling and crust. So yummy and my hubby loved it!!

I made this exactly as written with Granny Smith apples. It was great but next time I think I'll try adding some oatmeal to the crumb topping for more crunch and perhaps toss in some pineapple or rhubarb to jazz it up a little.

Putting my own spin on this recipe made it awesome! I added 1 egg, apples, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp lemon juice to the filling. I made a crumb topping instead of just laying on sugar and cinnamon. The crumb topping was 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup cold butter and a TBS cinnamon. The result was great! Would be delicious with cherries or peaches as well. I love this recipe ~ Thanks for sharing! :)

The topping alone is worth the 5 stars. I did as others suggested adding the cinnamon and nutmeg. I had two slices. The second slice I heated in the microwave for 30 seconds and added a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. If you have a pie filling recipe that you like, use it, but add this topping to it.

I was able to make this the morning before Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolutely delicious, convenient, and so simple! I substituted greek yogurt for the sour cream, and added about 2 tbsp of light corn syrup to the apple mixture before filling the pie crust, to thicken it up a bit. I also put some pecans in it. I will definitely be making this again!

This pie is delish! I made a this pie a few months ago and it was so good. This time I made a few adjustments to the crumb topping. I added cinnamon, all spice and nutmeg plus oats and walnuts and mixed it all in a food processor to combine. It came out beautifully. And such diverse flavors with the apples!!! My family ate it all up. So good.
