I loved it. Absolutely delicious! Didn't add lemon peel as I didn't have any fresh lemon on hand, but did add lemon juice.
I felt like the crisp part needed oats or something to make it more substantial, but I also appreciated that this recipe is lower-cal than some of the other apple crisps out there. The lemon definitely added to it. Really good!
One of the better crisp recipes. Depending on the sweetness of the apples you can use either all of the brown sugar or 1/2 the brown sugar for the apple base portion. I used 1/2 with a gala apple and golden delicious combo. I used the full amount in the crumble topping but substituted chopped pecans for the walnuts.
