Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) jar applesauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 18 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together applesauce, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and salt. Place sliced apples in a large bowl. Add applesauce mixture and stir well. Spoon mixture into baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and flour. Stir in melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apple filling.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
