This is the best! We add rum soaked raisins to ours. Also when it comes to mixing the topping I use my hands to make sure it is throughly mixed and is the consistancy I want.

It was okay, but it definitely needs more apples and I won't be using a bottom layer next time. Tossing the apples in cinnamon and white sugar will help a lot too I'm thinking. I'll be sure to make those adjustments next time.

Easy, fast and delicious recipe. I made a 1/2 recipe to fit in a 9x9 and it fed 4 adults perfectly with some vanilla yogurt. Would be good as leftovers for breakfast with yogurt and some nuts. I'll make it again!

I really liked this recipe. I halved it and used whole wheat flour instead of white. I couldn't fit all the apples into the pan though, so ended up using almost 1 cup less. My only complaint is that the apple filling seemed to be pretty dry. Maybe I'll put a couple TBS of water in it?

I have made other cobblers, but this one was really good--my fave so far. I liked how it has equal amount of crumble mixture below and on top of the apples. This is a keeper. Serving with ice cream makes it incredible!

Unbelievable. I am NOT a baker but was having a large family dinner and thought this would be nice to make for the gang. Everyone LOVED it. I did add a tsp of vanilla and tossed the apples with a bit of white sugar & cinnamon as suggested. I will make this over and over again.

I didn't think this recipe was very good. Instead of being crispy, the topping turned out dry and a little chewy. The sweetness level was good if you could find a way to add more moisture to the mix. I didn't like it enough to try to adjust it though.

Made this at Christmas time for my husband who wanted apple crisp. The top was very nice, crispy. I felt it was too many apples, but thats just my opinion. Needs a little more flavor, might want to add moe cinnamon. 1 tsp isn't very much for the amount that this make! Next time I am going to sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the apples as well and reduce the amount of apples by 1/4.

FINALLY!!!!! An apple crisp I am not embarrassed to serve! They used to either be to soft or too bland... This is wonderful! It has the crisp I am looking for and just enough of the sweetness to call it perfect! I get rave reviews each time!

I made this apple crisp for my niece and she loved it. The only changes I made was to cut flour to 1 1/2 and oats. Added more cinnamon 2t. I will make it over and over again.

Disappointing. Made it as a desert, but it just lacked flavor and richness. I think the apples were sliced too thin, used a food processor. Could use some salt and something to make it less dusty...more cobbleresque.

This dish garnered rave reviews from everyone who ate it. I made it a little differently in that I did the apples in a frying pan with a little butter, brown sugar, cinnamon until they were just about ready. Then I made the crisp with the brown sugar and cinnamon that the recipe called for. Baked it until the crisp was nice and ready and then pulled it out. (about 30 minutes)

I had a total of 2 quarts of mostly apples, a few pears and a bag of frozen mixed berries. I also doubled the crisp part, and I'm glad I did. My husband and I loved the crisp part of apple crisp. I also added sugar and cinnamon to the apples, and doubled the spice part of the crisp. The dish was piled HIGH with fruit and topping. I can't imagine anyone needing more apples and less topping. It was WONDERFUL!!

I halved the recipe and didn't layer it, just used it as a topping on my fresh apples. I didn't add the nutmeg. Wonderful, perfect and a delicious recipe. I added nuts to the crisp and it turned out great. The only crisp recipe I will ever used. I tried others but this is my favorite, not to sweet just right.

I couldn't find my apple crisp recipe, so I used this. I didn't peel the apples; just cored them and put them through the Cuisinart slicer. Baked at 375 to speed it up, so from start to finish it probably took around 50 minutes. The crisp smelled good and the kids liked it, but it tasted a little bland. If I made it again I would add more nutmeg and maybe more sugar.

Was ok. Used some of the suggestions on using oats. Only had red delicious apples and it came out too sweet. Will try again using tart apples and sticking to the original recipe.
