I did this with bliueberries (had no apples) and it was amazing. My neighbors and their children loved it. I will make this again using a variety of fruit. Thanks Rhonda.

I can't honestly speak to this recipe as it is written, but I used it as a base for my usual experimanting. I ground up oats in place of regular flour, added more spices, used some honey instead of sugar, but did add some brown sugar too, and just added a pinch of this and a pinch of that untill it tasted right to me. (I can never just leave a recipe as it is! Lol) Thanks for the base though!

Simply awesome! Although I don't put the crisp on the bottom. I find that doing that makes it to sweet for me.

Wonderful. Made it several times and both my husband and mother can't get enough. My kids love helping me make it and can't wait for it to come out of the oven as well.

I used a 8x8 pan instead of the 9x13 and layered it (three of the crisp, two apple) and with an extra bit of cinnamon on top, this turned out great. I'll definitely make it again.

Hands down the best apple crisp recipe I've used. I also use the same "crisp" part with my rhubarb crisp.

this is one of the easiest dessert recipes you could ever make - great for last minute dinners. i scaled this recipe down to 9 servings and rather than using 4 cups of apples i used 2 medium apples, 1 asian pear and 1/4 cup of cherries. liked the idea of an apple crisp but wanted something that was sweet/tangy. it turned out delicious, with the different fruits creating a layer of flavors. another helpful tip from one of the reviews was to cover the fruit in sugar (i used 1/2 cup splenda) before putting the second layer of crumble on top. this really brought out the sweetness of the fruit.

Followed the recipe *almost* exactly (ran out of butter, so we were short 1/4 cup). Mmm-mm-good! MUST be eaten w/ a scoop of ice cream or frozen yogurt. I'm 4.5 months pregnant and I swear Baby wiggled with pleasure when I was eating this for dessert!

Delicious. I made it with apples and frozen blueberries. What was great about this dessert is that it kept its shape when cut into squares, so looked good on the plates. Unlike other crumbles, which... crumble. :) The base was fantastic, I will try it as a base for cheesecake.

This was amazing...made the whole meal! Reduced the flour to 1 1/2 cups, and also reduced the butter to a little over 1 cup. Used Granny Smith, Jonagold & Braeburn apples, and added white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and the juice of 1 lemon...let all of this 'marinate' while putting together the crisp. Will definitely make again!

Really weak in flavor!! It doesn't set up very well either. I added liquid like some other people mentioned, but it really didn't help at all. Dry and pretty blah!!

I really wanted to like this as much as everyone else. I made this for a family dinner, and was embarrassed because it came out SO DRY. Interestingly, my boyfriend's 16 y.o. step-brother LOVED it and begged for the leftovers. Hmm. Anyway, may try this again and add a bit of cider...?

This is the best! We add rum soaked raisins to ours. Also when it comes to mixing the topping I use my hands to make sure it is throughly mixed and is the consistancy I want.
