Turns out nice. I used Spenda Blend and Splenda Brown Sugar but it came out so sickenly sweet I ended up trashing half of it. Have to check my Splenda measures. Looked absolutely perfect. Still gave it a 5 cause I think it was my fault. Will definitely make again.

I followed others suggestions as to using white and brown sugar, vanilla, and sprinkling brown sugar on top. Only problem was, it ran out of crust before the apples were gone. I will double the crust ingredients next time. I topped with hot butterscotch lI recipe submitted by JRUF34. It was delicious.

I followed the recipe as written, with McIntosh apples, and the taste was outstanding. I was expecting the topping to be more crumbly, but it was more like a soft dough. (Never mind, it still worked.) It did take about 50 minutes to get browned. Quick and easy, and we had all of the ingredients on hand.

I followed the recipe as stated. My apple filling was a little dry. Next time instead of adding the amount of water that was called for, I will add a little extra. I have made a similar version and instead of water I used apple juice. It made the dessert more richer.

Really good and easy to make. I just found it was alittle too sweet. Next time I make this I will use less sugar.

This was such an easy recipe. I had everything in my kitchen didn't have to go buy anything. 1st time making it I used all white sugar, 2nd time 1/2 white ad 1/2 brown sugar. Both came out great and my husband loved it too.

I used 5 large apples, increased the recipe for the topping by half, used 50/50 of brown and white sugar, added about a teaspoon of vanilla to the water mixture, and finally added about a 2 handfuls of golden raisins to the apples. I baked it in a 9x13 pan and cooked for about 52 minutes. Turned off the oven and left it in there until the oven cooled. Came out pretty good :)

This was fabulous!!! I did take other's advice and up the oven temp to 400 and it took about 40 min to brown up nicely. I also added the cinnamon to the topping.

EXCELLENT & EASY!!! Made five for a party that was being catered by someone else. It was the first dessert that was gone and the caterer couldn't get over all the compliments! I followed the suggestions and used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar and added just a dash of nutmeg too. I also made them all the day before and served them room temperature with whip cream - hot or cold it's great!

Simple and delicious! I used 1/2 white sugar and half brown sugar and I also sprinkled some brown sugar on top of the flour mixture before baking. It makes the crust look sparkly and adds to the taste. My whole house smelled of apples and cinnamon whilst it was baking. helpful hint: If your flour mixture is too sticky to sprinkle over the apples, it's because there's probably too much butter. Gradually add some extra flour to the mix until you can actually crumble the mix in your hands without it sticking like peanut butter.

Outstanding! I used approx. 2.5 cups of sliced apples (all I had) and 1/2 brown sugar in place of 1/2 white. I also sprinkled some more cinnamon on the top before baking. Not very "crispy" really, but family loved it. Thank you!
