Original Recipe Yield 1 nine inch pie
 

Ingredients

  • 4 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Directions

  1. Place apples in pie shell. Mix together sugar, flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over apples in shell.
  2. Melt the butter or margarine and stir into cream. Pour liquids over apples.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 35 minutes.

  • Baking pie is a rather straightforward technique, but a few tips can only help to make your pies come out looking and tasting perfect!
