This was great. I used it on french toast.I needed to cook it for another 4 minutes. It was a little watery but still tasted absolutely fabulous. These would go great on some kind of pastry.I would actually use this than the bottled syrup, because of the apples. They are so nice and tender. Almost melt in your mouth. This recipe is great.

I'm a nut for cooked apples. I loved this. My husband isn't a big pancake fan, but I am, so I try to find different ways for pancakes, that I know I'll like, and hope my husband does. And he liked these. Yea! I doubled the sauce and used 4 apples. Added alittle freshly grated nutmeg, a pinch of salt, and a tsp. of vanilla. Thanks! for a different syrup. I have left overs, it'll go very well with some ice cream tonight. :)

Pretty good. I put them on top a slice of banana bread and ice cream. This would be great for an apple pie as well!

Served this with Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes from this site- the syrup made the meal incredible. I was busy and probably overcooked the apples but it was still delicious. Will definitely make again.

Holy cow! I went apple picking with my boyfriend, and he adores waffles. This was the PERFECT topping! I didn't have cornstarch available, so I substituted flour and it worked wonderfully. Thank you!

Because I needed just a basic pancake syrup recipe, I made the following changes. 1)didn't add the apples or cinnamon, 2)based on others' recommendations decreaed brown sugar to 1/3 cup, and, 3)added 1/4 tsp vanilla. Also, I cooked it up in the microwave, stirring often. It made the perfect pancake syrup! I think that the original recipe (but increasing the corn-starch) would be a great filling for Taco-Bell-type Caramel-Apple Empanadas.

DELICIOUS, but very sweet! I halved the recipe and used granny smith apples. I followed the recipe and feel that it has too much sugar. I did use this recipe on plain crepes (Norwegian Pancakes - Pannekaken) so it worked. Next time I will cut back on the sugar.

This is a great tasting recipe and easy to make. It is like having warm apple pie on top of your french toast or pancakes. We made the recipe as is and it was simply delicious!

Really good, very much like Cracker Barrel's cinnamon apples. I made it for pancakes and it seemed like there wasn't ennough of the syrup, compared to the apples, so I doubled brown sugar, cornstarch, water and butter. I did not add any more cinnamon, and it was cinnamony enough. Simply delicious. We had a quite a few apple slices left after the breakfast, and my husband ate them all straight out of pan. He loved it and so did I!

I really like this recipe. I've added nutmeg as another great spice in addition to the cinnamon. And like other commenters, I've added more water to make the consistency more what I expected. If you get too much water, just cook it down a bit longer and you get an even nicer syrupy consistency. This works well on top of waffles, crepes, and I'm excited to try it on top of French Toast soon too.

...made this morning according to recipe as I was out of maple syrup and didn't have corn syrup as many other recipes require. This is definately a keeper! Apples give just the right balance so that it's not too sweet. Will make again. Thanks!

The flavor was yummy. Adults and kids alike went back for seconds. I chose this recipe because I din't have maple flavor . I didn't add apples . This may be why syrup was soo thick . I added extra water to thin out . Cinn was a little strong too me w/o apples .
