Excellent! I didn't use the caraway seeds and I used an extra apple. It is super easy and very good.

Yummy. Very autumn feeling and tasty. I would have liked a little more sauce so I'll add more juice next time.

This is some of the best stew I ever had. 10 minutes of prep, try closer to 25 - lots of veggies to chop and chicken to brown. I started to get nervous during prep when I finished chopping all the vegetables, put them in the pot and only had an inch left for the chicken and apples. I thought I was going to have to sit on the lid to keep it on. It cooks down a little though and comes out really nice. Most of the crock pot recipes here that tell you to cook on "high", you should cook on low otherwise you will overcook your food. This is the only one I have come across that you SHOULD follow the instructions and cook on high. Perfectly spiced. Great recipe!

This was really just barely ok for me. Kind of bland. My apple turned to apple sauce. The potatoes were bland & tasted like apple sauce, and even though I kept the onion slices thick they just turned out stringy when cooked. Not a fan, sorry.

This was good, but it needs a little work. There was no way 1 1/4 cups of liquid was enough to make a "stew", so I doubled the apple cider. I think next time I would be better off adding a can of chicken broth instead, and just leaving the cider the same. The cider taste was too strong. It could also use more spices. So I'll make some modifications and try again because I love the idea! And as made it really wasn't bad, just like drinking apple cider with chicken and veggies in it!

Loved the subtle taste of the apple. I did add more apple juice because I like lots of liquid in my stew. Thanks!

Very good, though my kids wouldn't touch it. Used small red skinned potatoes so I wouldn't have to peel them. Left out the caraway seeds because I don't like them. Cooked the chicken (frozen) as breasts for 2 hours on high in some cider, then shredded the chicken and put it back in with the remaining ingredients on low for 5-6 hours. Also followed another user's tip about thickening with some cornstarch at the end. Will make again.

Surprisingly delicious! I am not a stew person but wanted a crockpot recipe with potatoes and chicken. I placed frozen chicken breasts on the veggies as well. Subtly sweet, very tasty; the flavors blend well. I will make this again!

I'm giving this a a four, because I thought it was just OK, but my husband LOVED it. I didn't use the crockpot; I made it on the stove instead... which might be why I wasn't crazy about it. I thought it was too dry (not stew-y enough).

Wonderful! I didn't thaw the meat ahead of time, so I cooked the chicken on high in the crockpot for two hours, then I cut the chicken up and put it back in the pot with everything else. Then I cooked it on low for 10 hours, so I could serve it for an early lunch. It worked out really well, and I will use this recipe again. Next time, though, I might use the suggested cornstarch to thicken it a bit.

This was such a light tasting stew but yet very filling! All I had was apple juice and next time I think I would like to try the cider. I also just used small/thin boneless chicken breasts and threw them in whole and frozen. About two hours after cooking I took them out and cut them up and then put them back in. I let the entire stew cook for about 5 and a half hours and it was just perfect. The chicken was so moist and the flavors were so different. I also threw in half sweet potatoes instead of all white. I will make this again for sure!

Very good and simple. Didn't brown chicken. Added a couple of boneless breast also, for balance. Cut pieces pretty big because they shrink.

I made this with chicken thighs instead (which I think slow-cook better). And that way I didn't have to pre-cook anything. Turned out wonderfully! The apple taste is there but not overpowering, and it gives a nice new taste to chicken stew.

I left out the celery and added in 2 chopped leeks. As I was at work all day I cooked this on low for about 9 hours. Just before serving I added a tsp of cornstarch to the gravy to thicken it up. Hubby really enjoyed this and said the only thing missing was dumplings. I will definitely make this again. Thanks.
