This rich, creamy torte has always been one of my favorite autumn desserts. Mom uses the freshest apples from a local orchard and bakes this treat until the apples are crisp-tender. It tastes as good as it looks. -Alyson Armstrong, Parkersburg, West Virginia

Almost like an apple pie, but baked in a 10x15 inch sheet pan. Apple filling is baked between 2 layers of pastry, then covered with a creamy white frosting.

This recipe is very moist and rich. I have also made it in loaf pans, and given it away for holidays. Originally submitted to CakeRecipe.com.

A lovely dough made with ground almonds is pressed into the bottom and sides of a spring-form pan. A cream cheese filling is then poured over the crust, and topped with a heap of sugared and spiced apples. Top with a sprinkling of slivered almonds and it 's ready to be baked. Make a day ahead.

This is a very moist Bundt cake that lets you use up those apples that might be going soft. My family loves this. It is a Fall tradition at our home.

The French call this style of dessert a clafouti, in which a batter is poured over and through the fruit. It is equally at home at the breakfast or dinner table.

Paper-Wrapped Apple Pie II

My grandmother used to make this pie when we had Christmas at her house. She used a paper bag to cover the pie, but in the updated version we use parchment paper. It is a very old recipe. Enjoy!
