I didn't have all the listed fruit available so I had to go with what I had. I used bananas, pineapple, rasperries, green grapes, and apples. The recipe as given makes wayyyy too much of the sugar coating in my opinion, I ended up using less than half of it. But all that said, the taste was great!

Beautiful fresh fruit! Caution while cooking the syrup - mine also burned the first time I made this. This was refrigerated overnight - but ended up reheating - so I could mix it with the fruit. Next time I'll skip the refrigerate overnight step and just pour directly on the fruit. The rest of it went together easily, although I did not peel the grapefruit and oranges. I had a grapefruit knife, and just sliced down the sides of the fruit like the chefs do on TV. (Timesaver). Enjoy!

Very good! I love anise myself, so I think I might be a little partial. The other guests seemed to enjoy it.

Wonderful! Everyone loved it.They kept saying "it's got something in it what is it?" I substituted splenda for the sugar so I had to reduce the amount by half. This was truly amazing and I will make it over and over again!

Amazing! Next time I will add the pineapple juice to the syrup instead of all water.

Prep time 5 minutes? Are you kidding me??? It took me 5 min just to peel one kiwi, let alone peel and cut up rest of fruit. It took over an hour! Also, it cost me 40 bucks to purchase ingredients-I would have volunteered for another dish had I known. Anyway, it tasted pretty good but definitely NOT worth time, effort and cost.

This was very easy to make and very tasty. I was a little worried about the anise flavor because I am not a big fan of the anise flavor. But after cooking the syrup as directed it left just a very slight little hint of anise that was not overpowering and made you stop and say mmm what is that. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

We made this recipe for our hospital health fair, and man, is it good! The anise flavoring makes the sauce. The sauce recipe can be cut in half, it makes way too much. We also substitued bananas for the grapefruit, since so many that came through the line could not eat grapefruit (due to conteraction with the anti-cholesterol drugs). We added both green and dark grapes for color. Good recipe.

Awesome and easy. I made the dressing for half portion and then used it for two batches. And must say very delicious. Just be carefull not to burn the sugar. That what happened to me first time.
