Anna's Custard Pie

"This was my German grandmother's recipe."
Original recipe yield 1 - 9 inch pie

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend together the milk, flour, sugar, vanilla and eggs.
  3. Pour into pie shell, sprinkle with nutmeg and bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15 minutes or until set.
