they were good might be stupid to say but make sure you soften the butter before you put it in

These were so delicious! I used mini chocolate chips in mine but they turned out perfect, even after cooling they were still chewy. I loved this recipe. Simple, quick, and rich!

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. I took them to a picnic and they were literally gone in 5 minutes. Everyone raved at how good they were.

Soft cookies, chewy edges. I used margarine instead of butter. I thought they tasted predominantly of flour and were greasy. Something was just missing as far as depth and richness of flavor. Decent recipe, but not a favorite.

These cookies are amazing; I love the chewy consistency a lot. Even my boyfriend (who eats top-knotch cookies all the time because his mother is a pastry chef) admitted that they were good. A little part of my soul died when I dropped some on the pavement.

I have tried a large number of chocolate chip cookie recipes on this site, and PHEW! I am finally done searching! This is a simple, chewy, very tastey chocolate chip cookie. I use 1/2 cup butter, and 1/2 cup butter flavored shortening in place of the 1 cup butter. the shortening gives it a little more shape, and keeps them from going flat. Thank you so much! Every time I make these my husband and my brother comment on how good these are. This is our go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. FINALLY! My search is over!

Wonderful, Wonderful, WONDERFUL! I used white chocolate and milk chocolate chips for lots of flavour. These cookies need to be baked until they are golden to dark brown so that they stay together as they flatten out quite a bit.

These are the best cookies I've ever made and eaten. They are fat and fluffy. Iv'e been making chocolate chip cookies since I was a little girl and these are the best ever. I make them every Sunday for people at church, because every Sunday they keep asking me to make more for the next Sunday. Everyone loves these cookies. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

These come out of the oven super soft! They're very cake-like. Like several other reviewers, I'd recommend baking at 350 instead of 375; I find they cook too quickly on the outside otherwise.

Yum! Delicious cookies. The only ingredient I changed was that I used half the salt. Also, I whipped the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until it was the consistency of whipped cream and used the hand mixer to combine the wet and dry ingredients, too. I baked the cookies at 350 for 11 minutes.

I wasnt even going to try this recipe, considering it was almost identical to the tollhouse recipe. But after reading all the reviews I decided to go for it...and what do you know, they looked and tasted just like Nestle tollhouse.

I've made these cookies probably fifty times now and my family and friends keep asking for more! I substitute one cup of chocolate chips with butterscotch chips and add 1/8 tspn of cinnamon (for browning and a little flavor twist). SO good!
