Original Recipe Yield 1 - 9 inch pie
 

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup drained and chopped sauerkraut
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine milk, sauerkraut, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
  3. Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into filling 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
