Thank you. Great recipe, it's a keeper. I made it by hand, doubled the batch, followed the recipe exactly - doubled everything, but reduced the water by 1/4 cup. Next time I double, I'm going to reduce the water by 3/4 cup, because reducing by 1/4 wasn't enough.

A fantastically easy soft loaf. Not wanting a sweet bread, I cut the sugar in half as per the comments and it works fabulously as a meal accompaniment as well as toast for breakfast. adjustment note: all-purpose flour works just fine.

This is a WONDERFUL recipe. I make it in our zojorushi (The best breadmaker EVER) all of the time. After five years of trying to make bread, this one turns out perfectly for me again and again!

EXcellent!!!!I always wanted to make bread from scratch. Without knowing the first thing about bread baking...I tried this recipe. I learned a lot and was extremely impressed with the results. The family loved it, even my father-in-law who grew up in the bread baking business. It had his approval. My kids think I am a genius.

Great bread. My family loved it. I used regular flour instead of bread flour and it still turned out just fine.

I tried this in the bread machine, and I don't think it came out as light as it should have. Good flavor though.

This is a great bread! Very easy to make and very tasty. I've made 6 or 7 loaves exactly following the recipe and not one loaf has had time to cool before it was completely eaten by my family. It is a hair bit sweet, but definitely not too sweet for our tastes. This will soon be our everyday bread.

Excellent bread. Was great for toast or for making french toast. Would be too sweet to make a sandwich with, at least for my taste

The flavor of this bread is fantastic! Unfotunately, whatever I do (and I've made this bread several times) I cannot get it to rise properly...I think it's my bread machine. Next time I'll try it in the oven.

Very easy bread, however I wasn't that impressed. I guess it was a little sweeter than I had hoped; maybe it needs more salt. I would alter it a little more and make it again.

Fantastic!!! I used King Arthur bread flour and a tablespoon of yeast as I like a more yeasty bread. It had a great crumb and was nice & soft. The taste was terrific.

Excellent, easy to make and easier to eat. The crust (when warm) has a lovely sweet taste. It tastes fine when cooled but loses the sweetness. I have a loaf in the bread maker as I type this. I am going to check and see if Sherry Ann has posted a multigrain recipe for the bread maker that is this quick to make. Thanks for the recipe.

This is great bread. My new everyday white bread recipe has been found!!! First time I made it the dough was very, very sticky and came out with a weird texture. So, the next time I added one extra tablespoon of bread flour. I mixed it in my bread machine (mine has two rise cycles) and then took it out, kneaded in one tablespoon bread flour and let it do the final rise in my bread pan for 55 minutes. I then baked it at 350 for 25 minutes. This bread is so delicous. Thank you!
